This is a wonderful video I received from one of our moms. I encourage you to watch it.
Dear group members,
I’d love to share this special moment with you. My son, Matthieu, a student with autism and ADHD, recently performed "We Are the World" thanks to the support of his school, Katy ISD. This performance shows the power of inclusion when it’s more than just a policy. Watch the video here: https://youtu.be/5Nq6wSrEGwQ?feature=shared
If it inspires you, feel free to share it to spread this important message "Inclusion as a Daily Practice, Not Just a Policy: Matthieu’s Success Story "Blessings , Liliana D (Matt's mom 😉)

Behaviors that Get in the Way of Learning and Making/Keeping Friends
Post-COVID, our social environment has certainly changed, especially for teens. Teens often seek out friendships and relationships but don't know how to navigate successfully in this world of social media and other various challenges. In addition, individuals with disabilities are more than two times more likely to become a victim of a s*xual crime. More and more they are also getting caught up in the criminal justice system. Social media creates a platform for s*xual concerns. Protecting individuals with disabilities is imperative. Join our webinar to hear from Psychologist Michelle Garcia who will help us learn how to help our loved ones stay safe!

Kit-n-Kaboodle, Let Your Kid Doodle Handwriting – HELP!
Some children are challenged when engaging in handwriting. It isn’t that your child doesn’t want to write, it’s truly a condition in which messages from the brain to the hand do not make the connection needed to coordinate handwriting. Challenges are very frustrating for your child; seeing what should be written, but not being able to produce what is seen is defeating, especially when peers do not seem to have the same challenges. Join Robin and Elena to learn more. You will walk away with improved knowledge to support your child when navigating necessary support in the school and home settings.
Speakers: Robin Rettie, M.Ed. and Elena Padron, MOT, OTR/L
Robin, an Educational Consultant for Lighthouse Learning Resources, creator of The Anchor Teaching Framework, combines components of evidenced-based behavior strategies, cognitive development, & neuroscience to lay the foundation for self-regulation.
Elena Padron is a registered pediatric occupational therapist whose experience spans early childhood in both clinical settings & ECI. Her combined OT practices, knowledge in Sensory Processing and experiences makes her expertise applicable in all settings for all stages of life, home, school, employment, and community.
