The 2018 Professional Photographers of America International Photographic Competition concluded last week and I am excited to share that all four of my images were considered merit worthy and three of the images were selected for the prestigious Loan Collection (considered the best of the best). And the most exciting news for me was that one of my images (Elegant in Maturity) is one of the top ten finalists for the Grand Imaging Awards in the Illustrative/Commercial category.

Once again! Continuing my photographic education with the Professional Photographers Guild of Houston. Tonight we are learning from the fantastic Suzy Fulton!!!

I recently participated in the annual Professional Photographers of America (PPA) International Photographic Competition (IPC). It is like the Olympics for photographers! Each year we submit our images to be evaluated based on what are considered to be the twelve elements of a successful image. Those images that are found to successfully demonstrate the twelve elements are considered merit worthy. Then an additional round of judging of merit worthy images takes place to determine if they will be included in the prestigious Loan Collection (the best of the best!). I am happy to share that all my images merited this year and I was honored to have one of my images included in the Loan Collection. Also, I have now received enough merits to have my PPA Master Photographer designation conferred in January 2018. I am thrilled!!

I am thrilled to share that I participated in our state's professional photographers association annual photographic competition this past weekend and I received an award for being one of the Top Ten case entries. Additionally, I received an award the Best Illustrative Fine Art image, two ribbons for Distinguished Images in the Illustrative Fine Art category, a Judge's Choice ribbon and I also received an award for 7 out of my 8 images submitted being considered merit worthy! Participating in image competition stretches me and allows me to grow as a photographic artist. It has been a great week!
