We’re expanding our work in Earth orbit.

Intuitive Machines has been selected by NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory to provide the spacecraft platform, system-level integration, and mission solutions for EAGLE-VSWIR, an Earth observation mission under NASA’s Earth Science Division.

Targeted for launch in 2028, the mission will fly on our IM-300 spacecraft platform and use a hyperspectral instrument developed at JPL to study surface biology and geology from Earth orbit. EAGLE-VSWIR will also demonstrate technologies that could support future exploration of the Moon and Mars.

The selection marks the second NASA low Earth orbit science mission Intuitive Machines is supporting and highlights how our spacecraft platforms and mission capabilities can serve science missions from Earth orbit to deep space.

Intuitive Machines Selected for Multi-Satellite Communications Infrastructure Program Intuitive Machines received authorization to proceed on multi-satellite communications infrastructure with anticipated value over $600 million....

We marked an important milestone this past weekend in preparing for the IM-3 mission as our Nova-C Navigation Pod completed long range thermal vacuum testing at NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center inside the X-Ray Cryogenic Facility (XRCF). The scale of this facility is central to the test, including a massive 500-meter vacuum tunnel. For perspective, that is longer than the Holland Tunnel’s north tube connecting Manhattan to Jersey City and nearly the length of two Space Needles in Seattle stacked end to end.

The Navigation Pod’s laser rangefinders measured calibrated targets at 260 meters and 490 meters inside a completely airless environment. The hardware was enclosed in a thermal shroud, which trapped heat and created a sustained, controlled thermal load on sensitive components such as laser diodes, APDs, and electronics, and then was subject to temperature swings from 39 degrees Celsius (102 degrees Fahrenheit) to -3 degrees Celsius (26 degrees Fahrenheit). These temperatures may not seem extreme, but in a hard vacuum with no air to dissipate heat or enable warming, they place significant stress on the Navigation Pod. This helps confirm that our sensors operate accurately under both ends of the thermal range they may encounter during lunar descent.

Intuitive Machines has officially completed the acquisition of Goonhilly Earth Station and COMSAT, two world-class deep space communications providers with major ground station assets in the United Kingdom and the United States. We’re excited to welcome both organizations as we expand our space network for communications, data transport, and position, navigation, and timing in support of Moon Base. This expanded network builds on our past Goonhilly integration for IM 1 and IM 2 missions and will support our upcoming IM 3 and Altus 1 missions, along with the growing mission cadence of civil, national security, and commercial customers.

Nova-C at scale for NASA's Moon Base

Intuitive Machines has secured a firm-fixed-price contract valued at up to $148.3 million to deliver a production-line-qualified Nova-C lander to the Moon no later than 2028.

By scaling manufacturing processes to support high-volume production, Intuitive Machines is creating a standardized and repeatable lunar transport utility service that's needed to support NASA's Moon Base.
