Technology used: A bespoke fin fan radiator cleaning technology

The challenge: A power plant in East London required fouling removal from delicate aluminium fin fans on its radiator. If left unclean, the fouling can cause a reduction in cooling capability and production.

New Case Study:

A petrol refinery in Texas had an old bundle from their fluid catalytic cracking unit suffering from corrosion, so extensive it was deemed uncleanable. But having remembered a presentation we gave last year, the Major Texas Gulf Coast Refinery asked us to inspect it.

It took two teams of four engineers 10 shifts, working round the clock, to prize apart fins that had interlocked and clear the corrosion that had built up from being left in a wet yard for 2 years.

The tubes were treated with corrosion protection to preserve the metal and Tube Tech worked with Ernest Packaging, who provided specialist preserving packaging materials and a large crate.

The client then transported the bundle to a secure, climate-controlled location where it will remain for the next 2-3 years until it goes back into service.
