The Social Work Department in the the College of Public Service would like to post something to express our gratitude for out Administrative Assistant II Milagros Arias. We are so thankful for her overall, and especially appreciate her organizing our holiday potluck this week! It was a lovely opportunity to build community, and share a delicious meal!

CPS students who attended yesterday's "Free Pop-Up Grocery Store" event and filled their bags with assorted groceries of meats, vegetables, dairy items, all at no cost.
The quote that follows was indeed the theme of this event:

The Gator Advisory Board hosted our Finals Mental Health workshop tuesday. Thank you so much to UHD Counseling Services for presenting at the workshop! It was a great workshop and we are grateful students have access to such amazing counselors. 🐊

Juvenile Probation Information Session brought to you by Alpha Phi Sigma (Criminal Justice Honor Society) and PSCJS (Professional Society of Criminal Justice Students). The event is being hosted in the Commerce St. Building in R.C-230 but is open to all students that are interested.

The student ORG UHD Phi Alpha Social Work Honor Society would like for you to come visit our Bake Sale table on Thursday, November 21st in the mural area from 10AM-2PM or in the commerce street building from 4-5:15PM! We’ll have lots of goodies and raffles!

On November 7th the hosted this event in an "Art Workshop." They created colorful bags and the student organization donated the bags to Meals on Wheels Houston.

Criminal Justice student Lauren Parker participated in a great time at the Campus Compact "Newman Fellow Convening" in Chicago this past weekend. She got to meet some amazing people who are doing wonderful work. Thanks so much to The Allstate Foundation for funding the Convening and the University of Houston-Downtown CCESL for funding my travel. I can’t wait to see what is to come for the rest of the program.

It was a great time had at the first EVER CPS Billiards Mixer where CPS students along with faculty and staff came together wednesday evening post election for fun, food, and fellowship. Hope to you see you next time because the College of Public Service will have this event again for the Spring semester.
