"My doctor said my labs are normal, but I still feel awful."
I hear this most weeks. Three things worth knowing.
1: "normal" is a statistical range, not a health target. Standard lab ranges are built from the population that got tested — a population that is, broadly, not well. You can sit inside the range and still be nowhere near where your body works best. TSH is the classic example.
2: most panels are narrower than people think. A standard annual often doesn't include ferritin, a full thyroid panel (free T3, free T4, antibodies), B12, vitamin D, or fasting insulin. A lot of fatigue lives in the markers nobody ordered.
3: one data point isn't a pattern. A single value taken once tells you far less than the same value tracked over a year, or read alongside four related markers.
None of this means your doctor missed something. A fifteen-minute visit isn't built for this. It means "normal" answers a different question than "why do I feel like this."
If you want to know what to ask for at your next physical, ask below and I'll tell you. Free, no catch!

Hi — I'm Natalie! If you've just landed here, this is the short version of who I am and what I do.
I'm a Registered Dietitian and I've been doing this for fifteen years. I live in Ridgway Colorado with my family, and I work with clients virtually from all over.
Most people find me for one of two reasons.
The first: something has been off for a long time. The fatigue that sleep doesn't touch. Bloating after most meals. An autoimmune diagnosis. Labs that came back "normal" while you feel anything but. You've probably already seen a few people about it.
The second: you're thinking about having a baby, you're pregnant, or you're somewhere in the middle of postpartum, and you want your body actually supported through it. That part of my work grew directly out of becoming a mother myself.
What I do isn't a cleanse, a protocol, or a supplement line. I look at real labs and at the conditions your body needs to function — digestion, blood sugar, nervous system, minerals — and we build from the foundation up, in an order that makes sense. It's slower than a 30-day anything. It also tends to hold.
I'll say this too, because it's why I do this work: I had chronic asthma for 25 years and was told I'd have it for life. It's been well over a decade since I've needed medication. Not because I found a trick, but because I learned how to support my body, and then did it consistently.
If you're wondering whether this is useful to you, there's a free discovery call. No pitch, and you'll leave knowing more than you came with either way.
And if you have a nutrition question, ask it in the comments. I'll answer it!
Grace your way there. Keep taking the next step, but leave the guilt, perfectionism, and urgency behind.

Doesn’t the word calm just feel good when you say it?

My godson turned thirteen yesterday, and I found myself wrestling with the passage of time as I reminisced about all the moments & memories we’ve shared.
I already wrote him a letter that lays out my heart and love for him, so I’ll let that stay there.
What I’ll share here is this: the world is full of smart people, talented people, athletic people, and successful people. But people with a genuinely kind heart and a good soul are rare.
E has always been the kind of person who does the right thing when no one is looking, who makes people feel welcome, included, and seen, and who leaves every place a little better than he found it simply by being there.
Thirteen years in, and that remains one of my favorite things about him 🥹
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY SWEETEST, E 🫶🥳💜

What if you didn’t need another plan, protocol, or project to work on?
What if you simply needed a few days to step away from the demands of everyday life and remember what it feels like to be fully present with yourself?
Camp Wildflower was created as an invitation to do exactly that. 🫶 For four days in Ouray, Colorado, often called the “Switzerland of America,” we’ll gather among wildflowers, mountain peaks, nourishing meals, outdoor adventures, meaningful conversations, and supportive wellness practices that help you settle back into yourself.
We believe there is something powerful about women gathering in nature. Not because anyone needs fixing or changing, but because there is value in slowing down. In being cared for. In moving your body because it feels good. In laughing until your cheeks hurt. In sharing meals around the table and conversations beneath the stars.
Somewhere along the way, many of us forget that we are allowed to simply show up. No performance. No expectations. No pressure to become a better version of ourselves by the end of the weekend.
Just space to breathe, reconnect, play, explore, rest, and enjoy being exactly where you are.
If you’ve been craving mountain air, adventure, meaningful connection, and a few days devoted entirely to yourself, we’d love to welcome you to camp!

To parent her consciously
is to walk a narrow bridge
between guidance and surrender.
To hold her with steadiness.
To lead with respect.
To witness with reverence
for the unfolding of her own intelligence.
It asks more of us
than anything we’ve ever pursued:
presence over perfection,
patience over preference.
She does not need us
to be unbreakable.
She needs us to be real;
to show her where we bend,
where we soften,
where we begin again.
Because she is learning
not from what we say,
but from the way we inhabit
our own lives.
And there is something sacred
about raising a girl who will one day become a woman.
To support her connection to her inner signal,
her intuition, her inherent worth.
To enable trust that who she is
is already worthy of being lived, loved, and celebrated.
