Still wondering why “eating clean” doesn’t always feel balanced or even sustainable?
You’re not alone. This is one of the biggest misconceptions I see in my practice.
Clean eating often sounds healthy... until it leads to food guilt, confusion, and inconsistent energy. Balanced nutrition, on the other hand, is flexible, nutrient-focused, and actually supports your metabolism, hormones, and long-term health.
This post walks you through:
✔️ The difference between clean and balanced eating
✔️ Why “clean” isn’t always better
✔️ How a balanced plate supports real life (and real health goals)

Let’s clear up the confusion around cooking oils.
There’s a lot of noise online about what oils are “toxic” or “clean,” but most of it oversimplifies the science. The truth is, different fats serve different purposes and some are more stable than others depending on how you cook and what your body needs.
In this post, I’m walking you through the basics:
• What MUFAs, PUFAs, and saturated fats actually are
• Why the seed oil debate isn't so black and white
• Which oils I keep in my kitchen and how I use them
If you’ve ever felt unsure about what to cook with, you’re not alone. This will help you feel more confident about choosing the right fats for your health, hormones, and heart.
📌 Save this for later and send to someone who’s been asking about oils!

Beans are one of the most underrated foods in nutrition, humble, affordable, and packed with benefits.
✔️ Soaking beans isn’t just an old-school kitchen trick. It reduces phytic acid (which can block mineral absorption), shortens cooking time, and makes them easier to digest, less bloat, less discomfort.
✔️ They’re not just fiber. One cup of cooked beans can provide up to 15 grams of plant-based protein, making them a great meatless option for anyone trying to improve gut health, hormone balance, or cholesterol levels.
✔️ Soluble fiber in beans binds to LDL cholesterol and helps clear it from the body supporting cardiovascular health in a natural, food-first way.
I recommend rotating beans like black beans, lentils, garbanzo, kidney, and pinto into your meals a few times a week. They work well in soups, salads, tacos, and even breakfast bowls.
If your digestion struggles with beans, soaking and slow reintroduction can make a big difference and I can help guide you through it.

One question I hear often is:
“Is my metabolism broken? Is that why I can’t lose weight?”
It’s a fair question and while metabolism does play a role in how your body uses energy, it’s rarely the root cause when weight loss feels stalled.
Here’s what I want you to know:
– Your body is always burning energy, even when you’re resting or sleeping.
– Building muscle increases your baseline calorie burn.
– Extreme dieting or skipping meals can actually slow things down.
– Things like green tea or spicy foods? They might give you a tiny boost but your daily habits matter much more.
Swipe through for 5 common metabolism myths I walk my clients through and what the science really says.

You’re eating healthy, taking supplements, maybe even cutting out gluten or dairy… but your gut still feels off.
Bloating. Constipation. Brain fog. Fatigue.
It’s frustrating when you’re doing everything right and not seeing results. But the truth is, most gut protocols miss the mark because they’re not based on your root cause.
In this post, I’m walking you through four of the most common things I see holding women back from true gut healing.
If any of these resonate, it might be time to stop guessing and get a strategy. I help busy women get to the root of their gut and hormone issues using evidence-based testing and personalized plans.

You’ve been told to eat less to lose weight… but what if that’s actually working against your hormones?
The truth is: your body needs fuel—especially if you're in your 30s, 40s, or 50s and juggling work, kids, workouts, and stress.
Here’s the good news:
You can eat carbs.
You can enjoy a glass of wine.
You can have treats.
You can eat out.
And still lose weight when you know how to fuel strategically.
This isn’t about restriction. It’s about restoring balance so your metabolism works for you again.
If you’re tired of low energy, cravings, and “start over Monday” cycles... it’s time to rethink how you’re eating.
