The Midtown Rodeo Roundup 🐎

Earlier this month the Texas Independence Trail Riders passed through the heart of on their journey to the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, bringing one of the city’s most iconic traditions through Bagby Park.

Behind them you’ll spot the Midtown letters, currently wrapped with artwork by Houston artist . His design celebrates the color and culture that rodeo season brings to the city.

For the past two years, we’ve had the pleasure of documenting each Midtown sign wrap installation and the artists behind the designs.

While we were out in Midtown, we also stopped by a neighborhood staple, . Al has been crafting custom boots in Midtown for 16 years, and is a fifth generation boot maker. Al has donated a pair to the Houston Rodeo every year since opening his shop.

If you’re in Houston for spring break or visiting the Houston Rodeo, stop by Bagby Park to see the Midtown letters and snap a photo in your rodeo gear!

Daniel Caesar teased a pop-up at 1 PM, and fans waited for the location drop.

At 2 PM, he announced Bear Creek Park. Within minutes, thousands filled the park.

Police showed up after two songs, but Caesar kept performing.

He made it through five in total before asking the crowd to leave peacefully.

He called the free show a social experiment.

A brief, chaotic moment in Houston music history, and we were there to capture it.
