We're remembering the remarkable life of Jewel Brown, a Houston-native who played an integral role in jazz and blues music in our city, and beyond. Having grown up in Third Ward, Brown was a frequent performer at the Eldorado Ballroom, and went on to perform with the legendary Louis Armstrong.

As we bid farewell to this Houston legend, we're grateful for the melodies and memories she leaves behind.
