marriage is an extraordinary place to be. it’s a unique spot in life where you are asked to lay down your own ideas and desires for one another—yet in letting go you find exactly the place you wanted to be.

I love family sessions because I love my own family. This club of people that came from me and the one I love most. I heard once that if you want to change the world, start within the walls of your home, and I’ve only found that to be true.

If you want to see kindness, cultivate it.
If you want to see light push against darkness, teach it.
If you want to see humanity, practice it.

and along the way you’ll probably find small best friends.

the launching pad of anything that matters. when home is filled with laughter and grace, stresses melt, and we are free to be ourselves. we dance, we let others see us cry, we launch crazy ideas with no fear of judgement, and we extend forgiveness when inevitably feelings get hurt.

I think about my own wedding often, and how it gave birth to my favorite place and people in the world; my home.
