Thank you to Grace Fellowship Church and Katy Christian Ministries for hosting a free barbecue yesterday for our community’s veterans. It was a great gesture that was very much appreciated by the large group of veterans who spent their afternoon at Grace Fellowship.

Last night I enjoyed the Coastal Prairie Conservancy’s “Boots on the Ground” gala, honoring the McAnelly family and CW Henderson Electric for their work in helping to preserve the Katy Prairie.
For the past 34 years, the conservancy (founded as the Katy Prairie Conservancy) has been preserving coastal prairie, wetlands, farms and ranches in southeast Texas. They currently have over 34,000 acres that they either own or have under a conservation easement.

Such a great night at the South 7 Meetup Club! I was honored to speak alongside KISD Trustee Mary Ellen Cuzela, as well as candidates for Harris County Judge, Warren Howell and Orlando Sanchez. There was so much great discussion and excitement building for the upcoming election!

It was truly an honor to serve as emcee for the Katy Area Chamber State of Healthcare. This year’s conversation was especially meaningful, with a focus on hospice and the broader impact of rising healthcare costs on employers.

We brought together an outstanding group of leaders for an employer-focused panel discussion covering HR, employee benefits, and risk management, sharing real insights on what businesses are facing and how they can respond in a rapidly changing landscape.

The program concluded with a powerful keynote from Dr. John Zerwas. I’m grateful for his time and for joining such a great community event. His perspective added depth and clarity to an issue that affects business owners, executives, and decision-makers across our region.

Grateful to be part of such an important and timely discussion.

Such a great way to spend San Jacinto Day yesterday with the Greater Houston Pachyderm! Ken Wise shared his incredible knowledge of the history and importance of this day and truly made it a great experience. So appreciative I was able to join!

Today, we remember April 21, 1836, San Jacinto Day. The day a determined group of Texans changed the course of Texas history at San Jacinto. San Jacinto Day is a reminder that liberty is never guaranteed, and it must be protected, strengthened, and passed on. I am proud to be a Texan, and I committed to doing my part to uphold the legacy. God Bless Texas!

Had a great time at the Katy Area Chamber of Commerce Annual Gala this evening. It was an outstanding event celebrating the very best of our Katy community. This year’s Broadway-themed gala was a fantastic night filled with fellowship, recognition, and well-deserved appreciation for the people and businesses that keep Katy strong. Congratulations to Glenn Hegar on receiving the Legacy Award, and to the two Heart of the Community honorees for their incredible service and dedication. These individuals truly represent the spirit of giving back that makes our community special. Thank you to everyone who helped put together such a memorable evening and to all who continue to invest in making Katy a great community.
