'Scanxiety' can be defined as the anxiety and/or distress associated with an imaging test in postcancer follow-up, both ahead of the actual examination and up to the announcement of the test results.

The Foundation for Cancer Support (501c3 since 2008) is striving to build opportunities to help cancer patients and their families on an emergency basis. We reach out to large national foundations that can take literal MONTHS to get help and sometimes our patients need a ride, treatment, a meal or their electricity turned back on TODAY. With your support at the inaugural Foundation gala on Saturday, June 24th, we can raise money to create that emergency fund.
We hope you will consider joining us in our fight to build patient equity and to ensure that every patient has the opportunity to attain their full potential of health. We work to ensure that no one is disadvantaged from attaining this potential due to race/ethnicity, age, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, nationality, socioeconomic status or geographical background.

One of our goals is to eliminate any barriers that those in the midst of their fight might be facing. To do so, we need to understand the term "health equity" and what those barriers might be.
What is Health Equity? Learn more about the National Center for HIV/AIDS, Viral Hepatitis, STD, and TB Prevention (NCHHSTP).
