At our annual Orientation to Ownership on Saturday, SJ parents learned how the school encourages students to take personal responsibility for their academics while gradually shifting parental involvement to allow students to function independently. The goal is for students to graduate from SJ with the skills, self-awareness, and self-advocacy to excel at the university level without parental oversight. It was a great morning of collaboration!

Happy Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary! Today, we remember the Blessed Mother being taken body and soul into heaven at the end of her earthly life. Fr. Jeff Johnson, S.J., reminded us of the theological virtue of hope and how we can look to Mary as a sign of hope. Pray for us, O Holy Mother of God!
