April Clark Health Insurance Agent
Traditional and non-traditional insurance plans that meet your needs and budget.
Ever wonder why your coworker paid $500 for an ER visit and you got hit with a $3,000 bill for the same thing?
It's not random, and it's not a billing error. It's because your insurance plans differ, and those differences add up quickly when you need care.
The frustrating part is that most people have no clue what their plan will or won't cover until they're already holding the bill. You go to the doctor, swipe your card, and assume everything's handled. Then three weeks later, you're staring at a number that makes no sense.
This is why we always tell people to review their coverage before they need it, not after. If we look at your plan ahead of time, we can walk through what you'll pay for common scenarios so you're never caught off guard.
Nobody should have to play billing roulette every time they need medical care.
Want to know what your plan will cost you when you use it? Let's go through it together.

If you're frustrated with insurance right now, I get it. Many people are looking for alternatives.
But be careful. There's a new plan using CignaPPO that sounds great until you read the fine print. Zero coverage for hospitalization, surgery, or emergency room visits. Zero.
That's not good health insurance coverage. That's a disaster waiting to happen.
Before you switch, make sure you understand what's being covered. Not all plans are created equal, and some are straight-up traps designed to look affordable until you truly need them.
I'll review your current coverage or any plan you're considering for free. Five minutes could save you from a massive mistake.

You want to know something outrageous that I see happen way too often to educators? Adding your spouse to your teacher insurance can increase costs by $700 to $1,000 every month.
For one person.
Most teachers don't realize their spouse can get a separate plan that costs them much less and offers better coverage. You stay on the district plan, your spouse gets their own, and you stop wasting money you could be saving every month.
If you're paying family rates just to cover you and your spouse, you're almost definitely overpaying.
Let me run the numbers and show you what you could be saving.

A serious diagnosis adds a host of new challenges to someone's life. One of those is talking about it. Here's what to say when a loved one receives a diagnosis.

Most business owners think their health insurance is fine until we sit down and look at it together.
A lot of my day is spent walking people through coverage they've had for years but never fully understood. We go line by line through what's covered, what's not, and what will cost them out of pocket.
That's usually when the questions start rolling in. Wait, this doesn't cover that? I'm paying how much for what? Why didn't anyone explain this before?
You can't make good decisions about your coverage if you don't understand what you have. And most people don't, because no one's ever taken the time to explain it to them.
If you haven't reviewed your plan in a while or you're not totally sure what you're paying for, let's go through it together. No pressure, no sales pitch, just clarity on what you have.
Message me, and we'll set up a time.

It shouldn't. In today's healthcare environment, you have to learn how advocate for yourself -- and getting another opinion is sometimes part of that advocacy.
Will getting a second opinion upset your doctor? Plus: Will your insurance cover a second opinion?

Being healthy can cut your health insurance costs in half.
It’s the same way good drivers pay less for car insurance. If you're low-risk to the insurance company, you can qualify for significantly better rates.
Most people have no idea this is even possible. They assume everyone pays the same price for the same plan. Not even close.
The key is understanding how underwriting works and timing your application strategically. You don't need a perfect health record to qualify for better rates; you just need the right approach.
Want to see what rates you can qualify for? Let's find out.
