PUBLIC SAFETY ADVISORY

The drug supply is changing rapidly — and becoming even more dangerous.

The DEA is warning that fentanyl is increasingly being found mixed with emerging synthetic substances such as:
• Xylazine
• Medetomidine
• Nitazenes
• Cyclorphine

Many of these substances are:
• Extremely potent
• Undetectable to the user
• Not approved for human use
• Resistant to standard overdose reversal measures

Some combinations may require multiple doses of naloxone.
Others may cause severe respiratory depression, prolonged sedation, tissue damage, infections, or death.

This is why awareness matters.

People cannot consent to risks they do not know are present.

Today’s illicit drug supply is more deceptive and unpredictable than ever before.

One pill.
One try.
Can kill.

Please educate yourself, your children, your friends, and your community.

Carry naloxone.
Call 911 immediately in any suspected poisoning or overdose.
Stay informed.
Keep talking about this.

Silence and stigma do not save lives.
Education does.
