WHY DID THEY DO THIS TO ME?
I Didn't see this coming.
This was supposed to be a simple, 10-15 minute presentation for students, teachers, and parents.
And then it happened...
One kid waved at me...and melted my heart.
And then another one smiled at me like I was her best friend. I considered stealing her.
My "quick presentation" became a moment that chafed MY life. It reminded me of the days when everyone was a friend until proven otherwise.
The days when people chose you solely based on how fun you were to be around.
The love was so real.
I couldn't help but want to leave each of them with something they can carry home and tell their parents.
"I believe in ME!"

EVERY LOSS ISNT A LOS!
In business, I can sometimes get down when a deal i *knew* would work out goes left.
When there's something I really need to happen and I don't get it.
When people I thought I could trust disappoint me.
says LET THEM. I say THANK THEM.
..Thank you for showing your true colors.
..Thank you for making me quit being lazy and figure it out when I can't depend on you.
..Thank you for waking up the beast.
Whatever happened...it HAD to be this way.
And the comeback begins...

I CAN FINALLY ADMIT I DID SOMETHING ILLEGAL...
..and I don't regret it.
I "ran dirty" at a 5k race. I didn't register but since course.
The day prior, said he may run, may walk, but would do it. I said I'd support him.
1. called me a BLEEP without using those words. He runs 100 mile races now. He didn't when I met him. He's passed me by so much. I asked him why he did it and he said "Because it's scary." He does things he doesn't think he can do. I told him that's called a "Misogi." He woke me up, seeing someone who runs toward challenge instead of away from it. Game on.
2. I walked a 5k - for the first time. I've only run them. It's arguably harder to walk because it takes soooo freaking long! The mental grind was wild. Trying to find things to pass time. People watching. Making up stories about people as they pass. Thinking about pancakes... I did it all. It was an alarm that my nervous system didn't handle discomfort well right now. I have a lot of work to do.
3. My next goal is to reset everything inside. Long. Slow. Intentional. More impulse control. Less immediate gratification. Every businessperson needs this sequence at least once per quarter. It changes everything about how you lead and handle stressful daily events.
No...I didn't get a medal or the beloved banana. I just...finished...so I didn't take more than I gave. But I got more than came to get.
Deconstruction. Reconstruction.

That’s the real reason I go to events like Houston.
People attend events looking for "the secret."
They leave with what they really need...the right person.
The PEOPLE you meet in the hallways are incredible. And the "mess to success" stories from the stage are where their real gems are. How people summed up the courage to say "never again" and the immediate next steps they took that eventually built their empire.
Here's what I show up:

Learn more...earn more.
