Many of you who are familiar with me at competitions know that I am an ambulatory wheelchair user, and that I usually compete in my wheelchair. This weekend at Comicpalooza I not only performed my first skit ever, but I also competed on stage without my wheelchair.

This was a HUGE deal for me, and I am so incredibly proud of myself. My main goal was to use this as a learning experience- to dip my toes into skits and performing competitively, to try my hardest, and to learn how to improve. I got that and more this weekend.

Thank you so much to the judges Basically A Vampire , , Noontime Shadows Cosplay , , and for all of your feedback on my skit- it is very much appreciated! I can’t wait to edit a few things and take it to another con.

Shout out to and SchmittydeCali Cosplay for helping me backstage after my skit (and to Schmitty for being the best handler I could ever ask for all weekend- I quite literally would have not made it through the weekend without you).

And finally, thank you so much for all of your support this weekend. You run a competition that allowed me to feel safe and secure with attempting to be out of my wheelchair on stage, and for that I am extremely grateful. I always love competing at Comicpalooza!

I’ve done an inspiration board for Persephone, so it only feels right that I follow it up with an inspiration board for her husband Hades.

Consider:
- Dark color palettes- I would stick to either blues, reds, or greys and blacks.
- Having fun with texture; unique fabrics, embellishments that evoke a sense of royalty, and layers that give visual intrigue to your outfit.
- Tailored vests and men’s corsets. They add another layer for you to play with, and help enhance the vibe of “underworld royalty”!

My weekend schedule for Comicpalooza!!! 3 days left until the con!

Friday I will be hosting my cosplaying with a disability panel with RumpleStiltSeam, and then later in the afternoon I will be one of the co-panelists on Rumple’s “Ship Wars: Hear Me Out” panel where your four panelists for the evening use our time to present our wildest ships to an audience and try to convince you to hear us out. This is an 18+ panel, so expect plenty of unhinged and wacky antics!

On Saturday I have my OC Building Workshop! All you need to bring to that is your lovely self and your creativity- character building templates that I designed myself will be provided, and I will be bringing pens as well.

I will also be competing at the cosplay competition! This year I am entering a skit, and I am so excited.

Finally, on Sunday Rumple and I are hosting the Maker Meetup in the lobby. Join us for some cosplay bingo and good vibes!!!
