Along with other members of the Houston Woman Business Book Club, I am reading "American Moonshot" in August. Expecting it to be a good one!

As the 50th Anniversary of the first lunar landing approaches, the award-winning historian and New York Times best-selling author takes a fresh look at the space program, President John F. Kennedy’s inspiring challenge and America’s race to the moon.

For those of a certain age, I know you will remember where you were when you watched that first lunar landing on TV.

I was in my first post-college apartment in Baton Rouge, ready to start my first semester of grad school at LSU.

Despite the loss of power and internet and having to set up a temporary office outside the city for nearly two weeks, we got it done!

Today my job (and personal interest) will take me downtown to the Ballroom at Bayou Place to support the League of Women Voters of Houston's annual Political Pioneers Luncheon. Looking forward to seeing Judy Woodruff, a highly respected broadcast journalist I have admired for a very long time. Big thanks to Joni Baird hosting a group of us!
