Harley went to her new home today and to say that she was happy and excited would be an understatement!
Harley was a breeder surrender and she patiently waited 3 years for someone to want an older, spunky one eyed red girl.
Her new mom is retired and Harley will be getting all the lovins as an only dog.
Happy life sweet girl 😊

Harley had a home visit and meet and greet this afternoon. Everything went great and it seems like a great match.
She has a vet appt Tuesday and then we should be doing her adoption Wednesday or Thursday 😊

Jerry’s dental went well and he’s resting. His bloodwork was great. His teeth were in pretty good shape, only 4 minor extractions. His gums were really inflamed. They should calm down now that all the tarter has been removed.
He’s still waiting for an amazing home 🏡

Hazel went to her new home today. She will be an only dog and spoiled. Her mom was already in love with her 🤗

Daphne and Hazel had vet appts this afternoon. They were good girls.
Hazel was intently watching a guy on his lunch break napping in his car near us.

We should be doing Hazel’s adoption this weekend. Her sister, Daphne, is still available.

Lucas update from his appt last week.
DrA texted regarding his bloodwork results…

“He has a decreased red blood cell count with low thyroid at 0.8 which can be from chronic inflammation.
It is most likely from chronic infection in his mouth. His kidneys seem ok. But I need to get a urinalysis and we need a fecal.”

So he’s scheduled for a dental next week and they can do all the other diagnostics while he’s there.
On the plus side, he’s responded beautifully to the allergy med and should be done with that in about a week. He’s doing great with the pain and arthritis meds and he’s less stiff and peppier now. So we’ll keep that long term for his comfort. DrA also suggested adding in krill oil and he started taking Roscoe’s thyroid meds until I can pu his own rx and we will retest and adjust as needed post dental.
But overall, he’s doing well and seems happier.
Since I hate scheduling only one dog for surgery, I also scheduled Jerry for a dental at the same time that I’m bringing in Lucas. Tom had one a few months ago. So now Jerry will be caught up with his brother.
