Yep, multivitamins are the bomb. I’ve been advising my patients to take one for years, largely due to the COSMOS trial, which is referenced in this title. It is a huge randomized controlled trial of multivitamins and cocoa extract, which has shown cognitive benefit (both on memory and executive function) to taking a daily multivitamin. Now new research shows reducing aging in those taking a daily multivitamin, based on DNA methylation clocks. Amazing!! 🤯

Wow, potato chips made with olive oil! Found these waiting for me inside my hotel room in Cancun this weekend. Only 3 ingredients: potatoes, olive oil, and sea salt. Delicious! I love that many countries including Mexico add the “excess calories” label to help increase the nutrition literacy of the general population. Of course I don’t encourage regular consumption of potato chips, but a few indulgences on a much-needed vacation are mandatory ;).

Finally got my home weights set up! I use a combination of body weight and free weights to build and maintain muscle mass. 💪 Had to steal my toddler’s floor mat but I think he’ll live without it!

It’s never too early to teach your kids about nutrition! They think it’s so much fun, and it makes them want to eat the food if they know how it helps them.

For years I have been advocating for higher B12 levels in my patients because of vitamin B12’s importance in brain health. This study validates that the current B12 “normal” cutoffs may not accurately reflect the needs of all individuals. I recommend targeting a B12 level over 400 pg/mL to optimize cognition.

Packing the kids’ snacks for tomorrow. Edamame & apple for one boy and cashews & pear for the other (no peanuts allowed). Fat & protein paired with fruit to ensure they stay full all day and don’t come home starving!
