I've been recruiting IT folks for nearly 20 years. Truth is -- this scenario happens. Candidate accepts the first offer because they feel like they need to accept an offer due to their cash flow at home is coming to an end or a spouse wants them to get back to work BUT it's not the job they really want. The Employer thinks the Candidate is excited about their job and they start the on-boarding process (e.g. background checks, drug screening, ordering a computer, etc.) to get the Candidate ready to start on Monday. Then on Friday at 4:00 p.m. -- the Candidate calls and tells them they accepted another offer for whatever reason. To avoid the above scenario -- do this TIP OF THE DAY instead. ,
