Today is National Audacity to Hope Day, in honor or former president Barack Obama's famous speech and book "The Audacity of Hope." As President Obama so wisely noted, not only is hope a gift, but it is audacious. At Agape Development, we have the privledge of witnessing audacious hope each and every day - in the formerly bankrupt neighbor who now owns his own home, in the previously incarcerated mother who found meaningful work, in the kindergartener with dyslexia who learned to write his name, and in all of our neighbors who continue to show up despite the most challending of circumstances.
The Family Reunion last weekend was full of good friends, good food, and good times! Thank you to everyone who came out to make it such a special night. A fun-filled kickoff of the summer season!

Would you or someone you know like to support Agape Development's summer programs? Our Camp Agape and Teen Program provide safe, interactive, and educational spaces for elementary, middle, and high school students in our community. But we rely on the help of volunteers! Independent, Christ following, young, community leaders - one cool lemonade-day glass at a time. They serve their block, they own their block. They run their business. Our youth have been doing this for years and we see their growth when trusted with ownership, customers, problem-solving, and the confidence to see themselves as leaders in their own neighborhood.

Remembering those who have served and sacrificed this Memorial Day. May we come together today, as citizens of a troubled world, both in rememberance and with dedication to pray for enduring peace.
In observance of this day, our building will be closed. We will reopen tomorrow.
Join us on Friday, May 29th for our annual Agape Family Reunion! There will be food, fun, and fellowship from 6:00-8:00pm at 6504 Calhoun Rd. Mark your calendars! We hope to see you there!
Everyone has a first job! For many of our teens, their first job experience comes through Agape's Summer Program. One of the many job opportunities for our teens is the Agape Shaved Ice Program and YOU can support our teens by having Shaved Ice cater your next work event, serve snowcones at your wedding (there's precedent!), or help people cool down at your next party!

Come our on Saturday, May 16th for the Young Adult's Masquerade Ball! You may support our Young Adults by attending (email [email protected] to register) or by volunteering. Help make the night special by signing up to serve dinner and dessert, refill water glasses, and pick up as needed. This is a great way to see the program in action!
