From Sicily to Florence — the journey continues.

I arrived in Florence, a city that has long felt like a second home to me. A place layered with history, architecture, and art at every turn — the birthplace of the Renaissance and a constant source of inspiration.

Between the aromas drifting from restaurants, the craftsmanship of the leather shops, and the energy of the streets, this feels like the perfect closing chapter to an unforgettable journey through Italy. 🇮🇹🎨

Florence never stops inspiring me.

Continuing this dream adventure through Italy…

San Sebastiano Church — Ortigia, Syracuse, Sicily.

Capturing the beauty and presence of San Sebastiano Church through paint was a special experience. Its historic architecture, timeless details, and the atmosphere of Ortigia made this piece as much about feeling as it was about form.

Places like this remind me that great architecture holds memory—and translating that onto canvas is always an honor.

For those of you who don’t know, I’m currently living a dream in Sicily, Italy 🇮🇹

Last fall, I made a promise to myself—to go somewhere beautiful, slow down, and spend real time painting. After a lot of thought, I chose Sicily… and now I’m here for 30 days doing exactly that.

I’ve spent the past two weeks on the small island of Ortigia, just outside Siracusa—a stunning UNESCO World Heritage site filled with history, light, and endless inspiration. Every corner feels like a painting waiting to happen.

This short clip captures the very beginning of a new series—starting with a painting inspired by the waterfront promenade in Ortigia, the historic heart of Syracuse, Sicily. Just a glimpse of what’s to come… stay tuned for the full piece as it unfolds.

Ciao,
Allan

Heaven’s Fury.

A 40” x 40” plexiglass work alive with movement, energy, and depth — where color and force collide in controlled chaos.

Purchased by collectors Patty and Larry Campagna, the piece is displayed in a prominent place within their contemporary home, where it commands attention and interacts beautifully with the surrounding light.

A statement in both material and presence.

What does it evoke for you?

21 days of precision, patience, and paint—captured in seconds.

This custom mural was commissioned for my friends at . Eevery stripe, shadow, and detail you see here was painted by hand to create the illusion of real drapery overhead. Projects like this are a reminder that great design isn’t just seen—it’s experienced.

This reel shows the process. Stay tuned for the final transformation.

Which detail caught your eye first?

One of the newest styles I’ve been exploring—brought to life through commission.

This one-of-a-kind light box piece was created as a custom commission for the Houston interior design team at Audrey Drought Design Inc. While I wasn’t present for the original installation, being invited back for routine maintenance gave me the rare opportunity to see the work fully realized—installed, illuminated, and living within the collector’s home.

The custom metal framework was crafted by Houston-based metal artist and multidisciplinary creator Navid Ghedami (), whose precision and craftsmanship transformed the piece into something architectural.

Exploring new materials and formats through commissions continues to push my work in unexpected and exciting directions.

When a city entrusts you with its story, the work carries a different weight.

In 2025, I had the honor of creating this commissioned piece to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the City of Southside Place. Working closely with city officials, we developed the original concept together and carried it through to the final painting.

The completed work now hangs in Southside Place City Hall, commemorating a century of history, community, and growth. If you ever find yourself there, take a moment to check it out.

A moment that truly stayed with me.

This Art Deco Mediterranean mansion, built in 1923 and located on Miami’s prestigious Star Island, has been home to iconic figures including , , and , and most recently sold for $38,000,000.
To see my work displayed in a space with this level of history, design, and presence was both humbling and surreal.

The piece shown here was collected during Miami Art Week and now lives in the main living area of the home. I was personally asked to install the artwork—a the experience was unforgettable. The response from the collector made it even more meaningful, leading to the acquisition of a second piece.

Moments like this remind me why placement, story, and connection matter just as much as the work itself.
