😮 Did you know peppermint oil might help ease IBS-related abdominal pain?
🌿 When I talk to clients about what they’ve tried for symptom relief, the conversation usually centers around cutting out more and more foods.
🙅🏽♀️ But let’s be real.
Constantly eliminating foods can be exhausting, stressful, and often makes things worse in the long run.
⚠️ Over-restriction can lead to malnutrition, poor digestion, increased food fear, and even disordered eating.
💁🏽♀️ My approach focuses on nourishment, not restriction.
Before jumping into a strict elimination diet, we explore other tools that support your gut, like trying peppermint oil after getting you on a consistent meal and snack schedule.
🍃 Peppermint oil can:
✅ Relax the muscles in your digestive tract
✅ Reduce abdominal pain and cramping
✅ Support your gut with anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial benefits
✨ It’s not a cure, but it can be a helpful addition to your IBS toolkit, especially when you feel stuck and want symptom relief without more food rules.
💬 I’d love to know…
👉 Is there another supplement or IBS strategy you’re curious about?
Drop it in the comments and I might review it in a future post!

I was recently interviewed on The BioBelly Show, to break down the most misunderstood aspects of IBS care—starting with the truth about restriction, food fear, and why low FODMAP isn’t always the solution.
We explore how stress, sleep, trauma, and even your chewing habits affect digestion more than most people realize. Samina shares the science behind gut-brain interaction, how disordered eating and IBS often overlap, and why healing requires more than a meal plan.
Whether you’ve been stuck on low FODMAP for years, overwhelmed by supplements, or just tired of feeling broken—this episode will show you a compassionate, personalized path forward. Healing isn’t about cutting more out. It’s about learning to trust your body again.

Still afraid of carrots? 🥕
💁🏽♀️ Let’s talk.
I’ve been hearing this regularly from clients this month:
🗣️ “Carrots are too high in sugar and I can’t eat them.”
🚨 Well, I’ve got news for you!
🥕 Carrots have about 12g of carbs per cup.
👉🏽 That’s not a lot—and even if it were, it still wouldn’t make them unhealthy.
❌ Carbs aren’t the enemy!
✅ In fact, they’re essential for supporting your brain, digestion, and energy, especially when you’re managing IBS.
🥰 Carrots also offer gut-loving fiber, satisfying crunch, and a naturally sweet taste.
🙈 There’s no need to fear them (or any carb, really).
🫵🏽 You deserve to nourish your gut without restriction or guilt.

🥛 Is cow’s milk still safe to drink?
If you or your family enjoys milk daily, this is something worth knowing.
Due to recent FDA budget cuts, there’s been a drop in food safety testing—especially for milk contamination and bird flu.
For those of us with IBS or sensitive digestion, food poisoning isn’t just inconvenient—it can actually trigger or worsen IBS symptoms.
But don’t worry—this isn’t about fear. It’s about informed, gut-friendly choices. 💛
✅ One great option is ultra-pasteurized milk.
This type of milk is heated to a higher temperature, which kills more bacteria and viruses and keeps it safe longer.
✨ Brands like Horizon Organic and Mootopia at HEB offer ultra-pasteurized, lactose-free milk—perfect for sensitive tummies.
Prefer to skip dairy?
Unsweetened almond milk is often well-tolerated by people with IBS.
You deserve to enjoy milk (or your milk alternative) without second-guessing every sip.

Someone asked if butter could replace fiber in the diet… and honestly, I wasn’t surprised! 😱
The wellness and nutrition myths these days are absolutely absurd.
So let’s dive right in and clear this up:
🧈 Butter is a fat.
🌾 Fiber is a carbohydrate.
👉🏽 They do completely different things in the body and are not interchangeable.
🥝 Fiber supports blood sugar balance, gut health, and heart health.
🧈 Butter?
❌ Not so much.
💩 This butter-for-fiber trend is another byproduct of the carnivore craze.. and just because your poops are slippery doesn’t mean your gut is thriving.
🙋🏽♀️ Also, hello, cholesterol!
😳 Saturated fat overload isn’t the flex some folks think it is.
🔬 Let’s bring back nuance and actual science to the nutrition conversation.
🫵🏽 Have you heard of this butter trend?

💁🏽♀️ Did you know that there’s no single test to diagnose IBS?
That’s right—getting an IBS diagnosis isn’t as simple as taking a blood test or scan. Instead, doctors diagnose IBS based on symptoms and by ruling out other conditions.
IBS is typically diagnosed using the ROME IV criteria, meaning you’ve experienced abdominal pain at least one day per week in the last three months plus at least two of the following:
🔹 Pain improves or worsens after a BM
🔹 Changes in how often you go (more or less frequent BMs)
🔹 Changes in stool consistency (harder or softer than usual)
This process can feel frustrating and overwhelming, but you don’t have to navigate it alone. 💛
In my 🌟IBS Food Freedom Program🌟, we go beyond just symptom management.
Together, we’ll:
🚩 Identify red flags that may require further testing
💉 Explore additional screenings that might be helpful
👩🏽⚕️ Learn how to advocate for yourself at the doctor’s office
✨ Most importantly, I’ll help you find relief without extreme food rules or unnecessary restrictions.
IBS isn’t just about your gut—it impacts your mind, emotions, and quality of life.
But with the right support, you CAN feel better. 💫
Here’s what we’ll work on together:
✅ Lasting relief from IBS symptoms
✅ Rebuilding trust with your body & letting go of food fears
✅ Expanding your diet so you can enjoy meals without stress
