Itโ€™s been a long stay in the hospital for me, over a month. Unfortunately, my cancer has progressed far beyond what anyone expected and has done major damage which cannot be repaired. I am now home on hospice care. I thank you all for your support of Michele Bakes Cookies and The Silver Icing. I truly enjoyed baking and decorating custom sugar cookies for you at the Bay Area Farmers Market. It was wonderful therapy for me for the past year. At this time I just ask for your prayers so I can remain comfortable and spend the rest of my days surrounded by family and friends.

Happy to all the dapper dogs out there!

Thank you all for the well wishes! I am still in the hospital, but was upgraded to a regular diet this evening. Looking forward to something besides broth and Italian ice for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Fingers crossed I will be discharged on Monday or Tuesday. Iโ€™ve been here for two weeks.

My situation for the past week ๐Ÿ˜ฉ Last night I was allowed to start a clear liquid diet. Let me tell you that vegetable broth has never tasted so good ๐Ÿฅฃ, especially after not having anything to eat or drink for 5 days!

Happy National Sโ€™mores Day! Who canโ€™t resist this ooey, gooey, toasted marshmallow and chocolate treat?!?! ๐Ÿ™‹โ€โ™€๏ธ ๐Ÿ˜‹ ๐Ÿซ

Did you know - Original recipes used the name โ€œSome Mores.โ€ It is unclear when the word โ€œSโ€™moresโ€ became the more common name.

Shark Week starts today! Whoโ€™s watching?

Did you know - This top predator is often seen swimming with its mouth agape, not because itโ€™s hungry, but because that is how it keeps water flowing through its gills!

Just a little update for you all...

The past few months have been very hard for me. I have been in constant pain which my Drs believe is caused from one of my tumors. Although my new chemo treatment is shrinking and stabilizing my tumors, my pain increases. The chemo has its own side effects to deal with, too.

I have been putting off the weekly farmers market and limiting custom orders hoping that each adjustment of my pain meds would be the answer to getting back to work. Unfortunately my pain just increases.

Most recently, I underwent a โ€œtrial/testโ€ procedure to see if a nerve block could work for me. For the first time in 4-6 months I felt zero pain for about 12 hours. I consider that a success and I hope the Dr agrees. Iโ€™m now waiting to see if the full nerve block will be scheduled. If I have the procedure it should give me 3-6 months of pain relief.

I have been working on some new things while I have been away. Upon my return, I plan to have some extra goodies ready to offer in addition to the cookie cakes I recently debuted.

Until the time that my pain is under control, I must stop making cookies. There is no way to know if this will be for just a few more weeks or a few months. The sooner, the better for me as I consider cookies to be great therapy for me.

I hope to be back to decorating cookies soon enough to be able to offer back to school options... I have so many things I want to do, but it canโ€™t be done until the pain is gone.

I miss you all and I will still be engaging with my page. So please keep liking, sharing and commenting!

Happy National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day!

๐Ÿช Itโ€™s Americaโ€™s favorite cookie... whether homemade or store bought, pour a glass of milk and enjoy!

Did you know chocolate chip was the first specialty flavor sugar cookie I made? And I decorated them to look like chocolate chip cookies? ๐Ÿ˜‹ It starts with a brown sugar base and is loaded with TONS of mini chocolate chips! No wonder it sold out at its farmers market debut ๐Ÿ˜
