Helps College Athletes make better decisions and choices as students and student-athletes.

Am I delusional, or does this math make sense? Watch the video and tell me honestly. πŸ‘‡
I was running some numbers today, and I realized that over the course of my speaking career, I have saved the economy at least $1.36 BILLION.
Yes, Billion with a B. Here is how:
The government calculates that a single drunk driving fatality costs society $12.5 million. A su***de costs $1.3 million ($2million on others and I think thats low). An overdose costs $1 million.
After 750 keynotes and speaking to over 300,000 people, I have received thousands of letters. In those letters, I can count at least 100 times someone explicitly told me they didn't drive drunk because of my talk. I can count multiple dozens of times someone said they didn't take their own life, or they finally got sober. An addict will spend close to million by the time they are 65, and I stop them in 8th grade, 10th grade from that horrible path.
Add in the su***des and overdoses, and it’s over $1.36 Billion.100 drunk driving deaths prevented = $1.25 Billion.
But it’s not about the money. It’s about the fact that there are over 100 people walking around today, living their lives, who wouldn't be here otherwise. There are hundreds of families who didn't have to bury a child.
That is the real ROI of this work.
Watch the video and let me know your thoughts in the comments. Am I crazy for looking at it this way?

D3 male athletes drink more than D1 male athletes.

That's not an opinion β€” it's NCAA data.

50.4% of D3 male athletes consume 5+ drinks in a single sitting. 20.4% consume 10+ drinks.

When I say this in coaches workshops, the room goes quiet. Because every coach in that room thought this was a D1 problem.

It isn't. It's your problem. And it's compounded now by:

β†’ Transfer portal anxiety creating identity crises in athletes who are suddenly uncertain about their future
β†’ Sports betting β€” athletes being approached to share information or influence outcomes (NCAA updated Best Practices in 2024 specifically for this)
β†’ NIL pressure β€” financial expectations without financial education
β†’ A 60M co-occurring mental health + substance disorder population post-pandemic, up from 10M pre-pandemic

In my coaches workshops, I don't give a motivational speech. I give coaches the data, the warning signs, and three specific actions they can take by Monday morning. Things that 5 of my college coaching staffs didn't care to see.

I don't blame them at all, it was a different time. When BUT if 1 single assistant coach, head coach, assistant AD pulled me aside to figure out why things were the way they were.

Maybe my accident never happens.

When I was a men's college basketball assistant coach, I made sure I asked my players the questions my 6 previous staff never asked.

I use this in my speeches, my workshops and in my 1 on 1 sessions.

The most important one is three words:

"Are you okay?"

If you're an AD or coach who hasn't yet booked me for 2026–27 β€” my calendar is filling. NCAA approved. All-inclusive Game Day Package.

Most athletes spend their NIL money before they even cash the check.

Coach Fish teaches a different math. Swipe to see what $500/month in a no-load index fund actually builds β€” and why the athlete who starts at 18 retires at 35. πŸ‘‰

The conversation nobody had with me at 13 is the reason I do what I do now.

🎯

I was 13 years old the first time I tried to take my life.

Nobody knew. Nobody asked. And I spent the next 10 years using alcohol and drugs to mask the pain I never processed.

At 23, I drove home from a party drunk.

I woke up and found out I had killed an innocent man. A husband. A man with a wife of 37 years who never saw her best friend again.

There is no dollar amount, no apology, no sentence that makes that right. I wake up with it every single day. You CAN'T fathom the pain, the torment, shame and guilt that continuously runs through me.

I went to prison. 3 years inside. 8 years on ISP and parole. I did my time, but that still wasn't enough.

And then β€” because God gave me a choice when I was sitting in a hospital bed wanting to die again β€” I came back.

I went to my 6th college. I played basketball as an inmate wearing an ankle monitor. I earned two bachelor's degrees, three minors, and an MBA with honors, currently I paused my doctoral program to do this coaching program. It means way more to me than having Dr. Fish.

I've been sober 23 years. Alcohol is the most dangerous drug on the planet. It scares me. I drink and I loose everything. I drink I let God down. One drink I let the family of ruined down.

Athletes think they have pressure playing a game. Playing college ball was easy. No pressure. That was fun.

I've delivered 750+ keynotes to 300,000+ young people. Nearly 30,000 stories I've heard from those waiting in line to talk to me.

And I started youareundrafted.com Youth Athletic Coaching because I know exactly what an 8th grader who is silently struggling looks like. I know what a sophomore looks like who's struggling with personal identity, hoops, friends, girls, grades, expectations.

I was him.

Your athlete doesn't have to learn this the hard way.

You might think they don't need me or this service, you have good kids. That is what my white picket fence, happily married, successful business owners of parents thought as well.

Your athlete will likely say they don't need Coach Fish either. I would have said the exact same thing.

I guarantee my parents would have hired me in a nanosecond if they could see the future.

Look where that got me?

As the year winds down, students face immense pressure from grades, finals, and the looming prom season. Many turn to alcohol to cope with academic stress, breakups, and sadness. It's a difficult time for many.

We have a new https://journal.lifecon.org that helps student stay on track.

I failed out of 5 college programs.

Not one coach asked why.

A 2025 peer-reviewed study found that 70% of student-athletes β€” D1 through JUCO β€” screen positive for problematic substance use.

Only 10% seek help.

That means right now, in every locker room in America, 7 out of 10 athletes are struggling with something no one is addressing.

I speak at college athletic departments full-time. In 750+ keynotes, I've heard the same thing from coaches after every session:

"I had no idea it was this bad."

Now you do.

If you're an Athletic Director, Assistant AD, or sport performance professional β€” I'm NCAA approved and available for the 2026–27 academic year.

Let's talk. ethan-fisher.com

Before the pandemic: 10 million Americans had co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.

After the pandemic: 60 million.

6Γ— in 5 years.

Your athlete went to school, lost sport, lost routine, and came back to a world where substances are everywhere and mental health resources are nowhere.

70% of student-athletes now screen positive for problematic substance use.

Only 10% seek help.

That gap is where Coach Fish lives. That gap is why this program exists.

If your athlete is struggling and no one has asked why β€” this is the conversation we need to have.

This was towards the end of my workout. I was just working on my right pivot foot work, then adding some sauce with under the leg. But it shows you I have 10 counters or more in each spot on the floor. Some areas I have 20 counters and all at different speeds and timing.
