While cleaning up around the farm this weekend we ran across this beauty. A non-venomous rat snake. While we don't treat snakes in the wild, we do see domestic reptiles on an emergency basis. This guy was safely released.

Reminder for all of you that will be taking your animals to summer or fall jackpot shows. Check with your show organizers to see if you need a health certificate in advance. Health certificates are typically good for 30 days so if you need us to come out give us a call at least a week before the show. Best of luck to all of you showing!

We've been on several calls over the past month for mastitis in goats. Mastitis isn't just uncomfortable for our animals, it can be a serious health concern if not addressed promptly.
