Pop-Up Kitchen

This is an entirely donation-based initiative. Mario and Capstone Houston Group, LLC have provided the seed money to begin feeding Houstonians and are donating the use of the Seaside Lounge kitchen as well as staff to help plate meals, Chef Wendell Price is serving as a volunteer chef and helping to coordinate the ordering of ingredients for meals each day, individual Houstonians can donate any amount starting at $4 through GoFundMe (with all dollars being tax-deductible donations through Disaster & Humanitarian Services, Inc.’s non-profit status), Councilmember Plummer is donating her time to organize the initiative, all Houston chefs are donating their time and the time of the line cooks who will be joining them to prepare meals and Eddie Sajjad of Innovation Solutions created the branding for the project pro bono.

“The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted our neighbors in Houston in more ways than one, with job loss being a major hit to so many lives,” said Letitia Plummer, Houston City Councilmember and founder of Pop-Up Kitchen organizing team. “I am so appreciative and humbled by the incredible local chefs, our organizing team including Mario, Chef Wendell and Laurie Robinson, and the generosity of our neighbors who are donating to our GoFundMe to help us keep our neighbors in need fed for the next few weeks.”

ABOUT COUNCILMEMBER LETITIA PLUMMER

Dr. Letitia Plummer was recently elected to serve Houstonians as the At Large No. 4 Councilmember for the City of Houston.
