🎉TRANSPORT 🎉is coming up in a couple of days and we are so excited to have 2 vans going out to the North East!

Just a reminder that transport is a 24 hr service. We drive straight through and do not get to stop and sleep in a hotel. That means all though we go through your area it may be in the middle of the night.

Also moving 20+ dogs halfway across the country is no easy task and we are always at the mercy of the dogs needs, traffic and weather. We try very hard to meet our ETA’s but that is often out of our control so please understand the importance of being flexible on this one special day of picking up your new family member.

We will stay in contact through group texts so we will keep everyone updated of any ETA changes along the way.

Home from transport for 4 days. For the vans that means a little preventative maintenance. When you rack up well over 100,000 miles per year on each vehicle, maintenance and repairs are pretty regular. There are always going to be breakdowns for transporters. That is inevitable for all of us. It is also terrifying and exhausting because breakdowns with 20+ dogs on board aren’t normal breakdowns and are URGENT. The southern summer heat makes them all the more critical and dangerous.

So over the past 6 yrs of doing this and watching and learning at every mile. I have set in place a little system of checking and replacing wearable parts before they have the chance to leave us stranded. There are some parts such as AC compressors, batteries, alternator, tires etc that ARE going to go out. So here is a breakdown of what this weeks trip home looks like for our vans. On top of safety reasons, replacing these parts before they go out saves money in the long run because those out of state breakdowns can and do get VERY expensive. And as any transporter can attest to, we already dump a ton of money into keeping our equipment as safe as possible.

Mercedes:
Oil change

Turn signal bulbs
New windshield
Not much is needed as it has a new motor

Ram:
Oil change
Brake light bulbs
Ac Compressor
Alternator
Pulley tensioner
New windshield
New battery last week
Check belts and pulleys
