We'd like to give a big shoutout to this stellar group of volunteers from Michael Page that worked with us last week! Your work in Ms. Colen's house helped expedite her return home after Hurricane Harvey damaged the property over 6 years ago.

Today we would like to say thank you to these wonderful volunteers from Immanuel Lutheran! Your work on this rebuild helped shrink the time between disaster and recovery for a family that was impacted by Harvey over 6 years ago. Thank you!

Stories Since Harvey:

Ms. Mary Demus is a native Houstonian who has lived in her home for over 45 years. Ms. Demus says she still remembers purchasing it “like it was yesterday.” She dedicated her career to keeping other’s homes clean and safe but when Harvey hit in 2017, her livelihood was turned upside down. In the face of disaster, Ms. Demus had to worry about the safety of her own residence. After being evacuated, she returned to a home needing repairs on the flooring and walls. Her daughter reached out to SBP and together we will be able to complete the necessary repairs so Ms. Demus can return home safely.

The second picture shows the new kitchen featuring Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) cabinets which are disaster resilient due to their ability to prevent major damage and mold growth, should your home experience a flooding event.
