My father was laid to rest today. A man of God. A man of tremendous Faith. A man filled with love towards everyone.
Each one of his 9 children spoke at the funeral with incredible expressions of love, laughter, hope and peace. Some of his grandchildren sang. It was an extraordinary day of celebration for a legacy of faith and resilience.
As a Marine, He was buried with military honors.
As a veteran of the Marine Corps, my father was honored as he was taken out of the nursing facility where he has been for the past year.

My father was surrounded by family this morning as he quietly and peacefully passed on. He was 85 years old.
I love him, and I am eternally grateful for his love, guidance, counsel, and wisdom that helped guide his 9 children, 45 grandchildren and more than 50 great grandchildren. He was a man of deep faith, knowing that there is so much more to life than our mortal existence. We lived with God before birth and our Spirits return to Him after death.
He was a good man. He taught us charity, kindness, forgiveness, and selflessness. and he taught is that there is a God in heaven and His son, Jesus Christ is our Savior and Redeemer.
As you know, my father has been suffering from Alzheimer’s for the past 3 to 4 years. I will miss him.
Sweet memories! I am so grateful for these video memories of my father, who recently celebrated 85 years. Today he suffers from dementia and Alzheimer’s and often doesn’t remember his own children. This video is a one minute clip of a much lengthier video my son produced about his life. 
Completed Ironman 2!! This time without any broken bones. My son Matt, who is moving to Houston, captured some of the journey.

Ageless Beauty
A Life of Love, Faith, Service, with the Lord as their chief cornerstone. My sweet parents celebrate 65 years of marriage this year! They have 9 Children, 58 Grandchildren and 42 Great-grandchildren. Wow! What a posterity!
My dear father now suffers from Alzheimer’s and Dementia and his health continues to decline. It has not been easy for my sweet mother. But their love today is as strong as ever. They are Sealed for Time and all Eternity and have been lifelong examples and followers of Jesus Christ.

Wow! Happy New Year! It was an awesome 2024! As we put our faith and hope in Jesus Christ, it will be an even better 2025!
It was a year of traveling the world, spending time with family and friends, with aging parents and of course, visiting with members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints everywhere! These are the true JOYS of life! We love you and look forward to hopefully being apart of your lives in 2025.
Still without power at the Rascon Home. Hurricane Beryl knocked down 6 trees in our yard. 3 of them taller than 40 feet.

To my Dear Father, oh how I love you. Happy Father’s Day! I also thank God for His Heavenly Influence. The lyrics of a beautiful song about our Heavenly Father comes to mind:
“O my Father, thou that dwellest
In the high and glorious place,
When shall I regain thy presence
And again behold thy face?
In thy Holy habitation,
Did my ‘spirit once reside?
In my first primeval childhood
Was I nurtured near thy side?”

The passing of a legend. The Reverend Bill Lawson was laid to rest recently. What an incredible life of Christ-like compassion, outreach, love, and bridge-building. He was a pioneer in the way he forged ahead despite so many obstacles. And, he was an iconic Civil Rights leader and a beloved friend.
You know his daughter, ABC13-Melanie Lawson who I sat next to for 24 years on the anchor desk at ABC13 Houston. I wanted to share a few pictures of his tremendous influence. 95 years old! His remarkable life was celebrated in such a beautiful way.
