Master of Memory is a four-lesson series to help older adults understand how memory works, identify ways to improve memory and pinpoint things in everyday life that may affect your memory.
Classes will be taught by a representative from Texas A&M Agrilife Extension.
Registration for part 1 DOES NOT automatically enroll you in the subsequent sessions. So, if you intend to participate in all 4 sessions, be sure to register on the event page for parts 2, 3, and 4 when they become available.

In honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day , all Harris County Public Libraries will close early Friday, January 17th at 5pm and remain closed from Saturday, January 18th - Monday, January 20th. We will reopen Tuesday, January 21st at 10am.

REGISTRATION for spring class session is ongoing from Monday, January 6th to Saturday, January 17th. ALL STUDENTS, both new & returning, must come to the library during this time to register for English classes. NEW STUDENTS will need to complete a placement exam to enroll. SPACE IS LIMITED. Looking to experiment with new recipes? Join us for Cook by the Book, our monthly cooking demo class for adults.
This January, we'll be demonstrating how to make Spicy Italian Soup in the Instant Pot.
No registration required, but make sure to come hungry as we'll be tasting the dish during the class.

LSC | Watch | Harris County Public Library Webinars and Online Events Come have a magical moment with New York Times bestselling author TJ Klune as he chats about his Cerulean Chronicles, with special emphasis on his newest in the series, Somewhere Beyond the Sea.

Harris County Public Health will be hosting a free vaccine clinic on Thursday, January 16, from 11:00 AM - 3:00 PM. In addition to the Covid and Flu vaccines, multiple vaccines and boosters will be offered. Walk-in appointments are welcomed. For more information, please call 832-927-7575.

These orientation sessions will introduce participants to the specific maker machines in the library. Those who complete the class will then be able to request time to use the machine at HCPL branches, at which time they will complete a short machine-specific orientation at the location of their choice. Attending this orientation is mandatory before patrons can request time to use a machine.
This event is open to those ages 13 and older. Teens under the age of 16 muse be accompanied by an adult guardian.
Online registration opens one week before the class at 10:00 am.

Are you an adult language-learner looking for more opportunities to practice your ENGLISH in an informal setting?
Join us twice monthly at Kingwood Branch Library for E.S.L. Cafe, where you can practice your English skills and play tabletop games with native speakers and other adult learners!
All levels are welcome! Coffee and snacks provided.

Bring in your gently used puzzles and exchange them for new-to-you puzzles!
Please limit puzzles to 15 per person and no puzzles with missing pieces.
The downstairs Meeting room will open at 3PM...the first few minutes will be the puzzle browse.
Anyone that brings in a 250+ piece puzzle can participate in the swap. You will receive 1 ticket for each puzzle that you bring to trade for a new(ish) puzzle.
Any leftover puzzles will be donated to the Friends of the Library-Kingwood.

Join us for a free, 12-week class to help you prepare for your naturalization interview and civics test. An English placement test must be passed for class admittance. Students must commit to attending all classes. Taking this class does not grant citizenship or pay for any application fees. Registration is required as space is limited.

Think you know books? Put your knowledge to the test for a night of pub-style trivia. We will answer 5 book-themed rounds of questions in small teams. Feel free to bring your own team, or come on your own and be assigned a team.
