Mark Yamaguchi is the Business Manager and leads the sales, service, and installations.

Henry Wall reports to Mark and is the Home Comfort Advisor and came to AJWSC in December of 2018 after selling his company of 30 years. Henry has a PHD in Chemical Engineering and is on the Lone Star College Air Conditioning Advisory Committee. Henry's license is TACLB 913C. Henry has been an instructor at the power company teaching 10-Point Tune-Up dealers preparing for certification testing, has been on the BBB Industry committee for Air Conditioning, and has been on the Construction Industry Council for the City of Houston.”

How to Select your A/C Contractor

Most Houston homeowners have some kind of fear and trembling about their air-conditioner. It’s that essential to living in this part of the country. And that makes having true professionals in your corner a smart strategy.

We believe that membership in trade organizations, such as the Air Conditioning Contractors Association of Greater Houston, implies integrity. “It has a code of ethics that we subscribe to. All members must be licensed and insured. In the event of a dispute, the association can arbitrate.

Air-Conditioning is a building science these days and the better companies realize that the a/c and heating is a system within the larger system of the house. Sometimes that means we need to fix the house – not just the a/c .We do it by testing such factors as air pressure, humidity levels, air filtration and leaks in the thermal envelope.

BLOWER MOTORS ARE NOW OF THE ELECTRONIC TYPE FOR SEVERAL REASONS:
First, for efficiency to meet Federal rules. Second, to control air flow better for better moisture removal from the air in cooling mode. Third, for quietness. Fourth, for computer control of the blower.

As of July 3, 2019, gas furnaces must be manufactured to meet new DOE efficiency standards for the blower. The part of the blower that can be made more efficient is the motor. PSC motors, used for 50+ years, are unable to meet the new efficiency rules. Now the motor of choice has become the electrically commutated motor. As manufacturers sell all of their furnaces manufactured before July 3, 2019, only furnaces with electrically commutated motors will be available.

Variable-speed compressors cause an air conditioner to be "variable
speed". The benefits are:
QUIETNESS - quiet enough to be on a patio or by a bedroom window.
SUPER-HIGH EFFICIENCY - SEER 18 or above, at SEER 20 saving 30%.
LOWER HUMIDITY - 50% Relative Humidity between noon and 10 pm
LOWER ELECTRICITY USAGE BY FURNACE BLOWER - 1) variable-speed blower motors use 1/3 to 1/5 the kw of a conventional blower motor and 2) on low speed for only filtering the air, about 1/10 the power is used.
