Beautiful day in Michigan for some rope repair.
When equipment is working in the field, downtime is not the goal — keeping the job moving is.
Our team was out supporting a customer with rope repair work, bringing the tools, experience, and field service support needed to help keep their operation going.
Technical callout:
- Field rope repair support
- On-site service capability
- Utility and stringing line applications
- Helping extend service life and reduce downtime
Whether it is rope repair, inspection, troubleshooting, or field support, Bishop Lifting is ready to help customers get the most out of their equipment and keep critical work moving.

Sometimes the best stories happen between the big projects.
Walking through the shop, you see more than work getting done — you see people sharing knowledge, solving problems, training the next person up, checking equipment, and helping each other keep the job moving.
That’s the part of this industry that does not always make it into the final product shot.
Behind every sling, assembly, rental order, inspection, and customer solution is a team of people communicating, learning, and working together.
These are the moments worth documenting — because they show the culture behind the work.
Experience gets passed down. Questions get answered. Problems get solved. And the next job gets better because of it.
That is what keeps Bishop Lifting moving forward.

Brooming a 3-1/2" wire rope for a Crosby G-416 Open Spelter Socket.
This is the first step in building a BLP-602 wire rope sling rated at 496,800 lbs. Before the WIRELOCK® pour, the rope has to be opened, cleaned, and prepped correctly.
When the rope is this size, there is no room for shortcuts.

This is what scale looks like after the pour.
Here’s the final result of a http://3.5" wire rope sling completed with Crosby G-416 Open Spelter Sockets and WIRELOCK® socketing compound.
Spelter socket terminations are built for serious lifting applications where strength, reliability, and proper installation matter. When installed correctly, a spelter socket provides a permanent, high-efficiency wire rope termination designed to transfer load through the socket connection.
Technical callout:
- http://3.5" wire rope sling
- Crosby G-416 Open Spelter Sockets sized for 3-1/2" – 3-5/8" wire rope
- WIRELOCK® socketing compound
- Permanent wire rope end termination
- Built for heavy lifting, rigging, marine, and industrial applications
The process may look simple when it’s finished, but every step matters — from brooming and cleaning the wire rope to socket alignment, pouring, curing, and final inspection.
This is the kind of work that takes the right equipment, the right product knowledge, and experienced hands in the shop.
Be on the lookout for the upcoming video showing our team fabricating this monster from start to finish.

Great slings are built by great teams.
Here’s a behind-the-scenes look at two of our team members working together on a custom wire rope sling — the kind of hands-on fabrication that takes coordination, experience, and trust in the person working beside you.
Large wire rope assemblies don’t come together by accident. Every step matters, from handling the rope and forming the eye to keeping the process moving safely and efficiently.
Technical callout:
- Custom wire rope sling fabrication
- Large-diameter wire rope assembly
- Built for heavy lifting applications
- In-house fabrication by experienced hands
This is what teamwork looks like on the shop floor: two people focused on the same goal — building a sling the customer can count on in the field.

Not all winch lines are built for the same job.
Most people think of winch lines on off-road vehicles, but they are used across many industries — especially towing, recovery, rigging, and heavy-duty pulling applications.
At Bishop Lifting, we offer winch lines in multiple styles, materials, diameters, lengths, and hook configurations so customers can choose the right setup for the way they work.
Technical Callout:
- Steel cable winch lines — common, durable, and available in bright wire rope options
- Galvanized Super Swaged wire rope — stronger, stiffer, and built for heavier use
- Synthetic winch lines — lightweight, strong, easier to handle, and field-repairable
- Hook options — standard hooks, swivel hooks, and self-closing swivel hooks
- Custom options available — longer lengths, different diameters, and application-specific builds
Whether you're replacing a worn winch line, upgrading your equipment, or specifying a custom assembly, Bishop Lifting offers a wide range of winch lines, hooks, extensions, and rigging solutions to fit the job.

Prepped, loaded, and ready to roll.
Sometimes customers have unusual requests — and that’s where the right service team makes the difference.
Our team is taking the Scope rope inspection machine on the road to Nebraska, using our sandline trailer and bumper pull trailer setup to bring advanced rope inspection directly to the customer.
Scope gives crews a deeper look at rope condition by helping identify areas of concern along the line, with inspection data measured across a precise distance through its built-in encoder system. That means operators can better pinpoint segments that may need attention instead of relying on visual checks alone.
For customers managing critical rope, stringing lines, or high-use equipment, this kind of inspection can help support:
Better visibility into rope condition
More informed maintenance decisions
Reduced downtime
Improved planning across multiple lines or sites
Added confidence before the next job
Whether the work happens in our shop or on the road, Bishop Lifting is built to help customers find a solution.

Built for balance, stability, and heavy lifting.
This is a BLP-201 Two-Leg Bridle Wire Rope Sling built with a master link sub assembly — designed for lifting applications where load control and proper connection points matter.
Two-leg bridle slings help provide added stability when lifting heavy or unbalanced loads, giving crews multiple pick points to better control the load. The master link sub assembly creates separated connection points for each leg, helping improve load distribution and reduce binding during the lift.
This assembly is tagged for traceability and lift planning, with key information like size, length, WLL, serial number, and manufacturing date clearly marked.
Product highlights:
