Guests don't enjoy sitting through a long, drawn-out toast reviewing your life. Keep the toasts short and sweet and limit them to the best man, maid of honor and maybe a party.

Useful wedding tips from Bride St. Louis

Do I have to visit with ALL my guests? It’s a large group.
The formal receiving line is going away, but you should make an effort to talk with every guest. Be sure to schedule enough time, after all, they cared enough about you to come to your wedding. Something I tell many brides, is that an easy way to visit with each one is to personally hand out the wedding favors, and then just add a few personal words of thanks.

We had our wedding at the Lalumondiere in October 2019, and it was a wonderful experience. Thank you, Jeannie and Jim for hosting us! The Lalumondiere is their home and I will forever be envious that they get to live in this magical place! It was the only "venue" we looked at when planning our wedding and we knew right away it was the one for us. Go tour it if you're interested; you have to see it in person to realize all of its beauty! If you want a smaller outdoor ceremony and reception, this is THE place to do it. It matched our laidback "let's just get together" vibe and then exceeded our expectations with its beautiful rushing water, lush green space and coziness. Jeannie and Jim were helpful and kind and did so much work throughout our 2 years of planning to help us have this day. When we met them, we instantly knew they'd be awesome people to work closely with and that made a huge difference. All of our family, friends and guests raved about our event and the property. Our wedding day would not have been the same if we had had it anywhere else. We are grateful to have been married at the Lalumondiere and will cherish our memories forever!"

I'm encouraging folks to consider doing business with the many small STL restaurateurs who are offering food pickup service in their efforts to remain viable. In the past nine months Jim and I have saved many $$$$ normally spent on dining and entertainment due to all the restrictions. We'll spend it now by ordering meals already prepared such as this that Little Fox is offering. Maybe that would work for you as well. Just a thought................ I'm focusing on small, individually owned entities, not corporate owned chains.

"This venue is beautiful and breath taking! What they've done with this place is just amazing. If you like nature this is the place for you. At night it felt magical. During the day being able to see the water and you're always able to hear the water rushing. Such a wonderful outdoor venue, and the owners are equally as wonderful, such nice good people."
