Controversial post incoming in 5… 4… 3… 2… 1…
Welcome 😂
Okay so I won’t go into this too much, but with the heat being as bad as it is! Let’s take a moment to talk about sweat vs snot.
I know a lot of people get nervous to post their bunnies in the summer because everyone panics when a bunny has a wet nose or wet lip and often more times than not, people will freak out and say you have snot! 😱 oh nooooo. And we all know pictures can be deceiving as well lol. Let’s all remember that they do sweat and then they stick their faces in hay, or if you use water bowls like me, that’s also a common occurrence with a wet face and diving into hay to forage, it’s their nature. Let me show you examples of snot vs, hay nose, or sweat.
Please note the rabbit with snot is no longer here, this popped up in the quarantine phase after I got her, and she never stepped foot in my barn, it was “taken care of” immediately. This is the most severe case have ever personally seen, but I know it can be a lot worse. This is for educational purposes only lol.
I would also like to say that theres always ways to be sure if you’re worried your bunny may be sick, a quick swab and you’ll have your answer in a matter of days. A lot of illnesses are treatable and snot doesn’t always mean snuffles. So keep that in mind too. When you have multiple rabbits coming from multiple locations and on transport with others from who knows where, things happen. It’s gonna happen. It’s how you handle it that matters, if someone says they have never had issues arise, they’re lying. Everyone goes through it when you have multiple rabbits. If you let it go and ignore it, that’s when it becomes an issue. I know I’m paranoid myself. But I know the difference between the three of these and understand that these are rabbits and they don’t have clean noses 99.9% of the time lol. Especially in summer. I wish this topic wasn’t so taboo. And I wish people didn’t scare people and tell them to never talk about it, maybe then when, or if it does ever happen to you, we all would feel more comfortable reaching out to someone who has dealt with it and ask how to treat it or what to do. I bet it would stop a lot of things from being spread too. Just a few things to keep in mind. I’m not gonna go any further into detail about what I do, or how I handle things, because I don’t take well to people coming at me if they do it differently. I just more or less wanted to spread some awareness of the differences and how a wet nose doesn’t always mean illness. If you ever have any questions I have learned a lot from a lot of amazing breeders and I am always here to help when I can🤍

For the first time in almost a year
my house is 𝐛𝐮𝐧𝐧𝐲-𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐬… 🐰 🥲

The last 2️⃣ bunnies left to go to their fureverrr homes yesterday and it was so bittersweet.

I made the very hard decision to get out of the rabbitry business (for now). This has been such a hard decision for me to make, bc I’ve poured my heart and soul into my rabbitry, & these bunnies. So much money, so much time, so much feels like it’s down the drain. But I keep telling myself it won’t be like this forever and one day in the future I will get back into it! I’ve met some of the 𝐛𝐞𝐬𝐭 people throughout this journey and for that, I’m so very thankful for! 🥰

From here on out my page will still be up and running 🏃‍♂️

I will use my page to share educational content with you guys, & also help my fellow breeder friends I’ve made share their stuff to get it out to the world! 🌎

& eventually when the time right for me, I WILL have my rabbitry back up & running! Thanks to everyone for the support, & the friendships!

I’m sorry but I can’t keep my mouth shut, this needs to be said! With that HOW DARE SOME BREEDERS/ PEOPLE!

It is sad day today, I’m sadden to hear that Hippity Hop Express will no longer be transporting after her last run.

I’m even more saddened to hear how some fellow breeders/ customers are so unprofessional to the point you can drive someone to stop doing something they may love.

For Susan to put her time, energy, money and safety on the line to transport rabbits that “YOU WANT”, and without her “YOU WOULD NOT GET THEM”, and for the folks to treat her with utter disrespect and be un honest is sickening to here.

When you seek out a transporter you know that policies and the rules of the what is expected with a transport, the do’s and don’ts aka “NO SICK RABBITS” and “NO ADDING SPOTS”.

Also it is “YOUR RESPONSIBILITY” to make sure your rabbits are not sick, NOT the transporter. NOW yes if your rabbit shows up sick the day of transport yes I’m sure 100% it would be turned away with every right. However if your rabbits are sick and no showing signs and you knowingly hide that and send it you are disgusting, you are not only getting other animals sick not selling a sick rabbit to another.

To go behind a transporters back and knowing throw a rabbit that is sick…well that makes you a poor and disgusting breeder that is NOT reputable, and if was me and you did that to me? You bet I would blast your name, however thankful I’m not and Susan is very professional.

Speaking of professional the comment that someone said her customer service skills are less than to be desired… well I guess you don’t know how transport works and how hard of a job it is. If anything you need to look in the mirror!

Susan I have not gotten to use to as a transporter however I’m sadden to hear this has happened to you. I have been very impressed how professional you are, how much care and love goes into transporting rabbits. When I 1st heard about you and seen your van it defiantly made me feel like I could send a rabbit with you to be transported. Have I yet, no because I haven’t had the need yet.

I know I speak for a lot of the rabbit community and we are so sorry to hear this, we are you’re biggest supporters (your loyal ones) and we wish you luck in your journey no matter where it takes you.

However please know you will be greatly missed and it is a huge loss for the New England Area, but we understand 100%.

Best Wishes, a loyal fellow breeder!
