Congress Can’t Do Its Own Job, Much Less Determine Veteran Disability Status VFW warns in the Kansas City Star that Congress must not treat VA disability ratings as political budget offsets.

This past weekend at the VFW Department of Louisiana State Convention, our post received several awards. The post was recognized as 5th place All-State Post within the state for all the programs that our post participates in. The post was recognized as the 1st place POW MIA Post for our POW MIA programs. The post received Excellent Community Service Reporting for the reporting of all the community service the post and its membership does individually. We were also recognized for exceeding our post’s membership goal. The Post Commander, Ray Bergeron, and Post Quartermaster, Cary Tanner, were recognized as Post All-State Commander and Post All-State Quartermaster.
Thank you to our post membership, because this is a team effort.

Congratulations to Makayla Rhodes for her VFW State Auxiliary 1st Place Awards in both the 2-Dimensional and 3-Dimensional Young American Patriotic Art Contest. Makayla received her awards yesterday at the VFW Department of Louisiana State Convention.
