Proper movement training and strength training for the Middle school athete use to be considered taboo, but it is probably one of the best activities a child can start doing. With the nervous system (along with a few others) undergoing huge changes, the young athlete can just look "uncoordinated" or "clumsy", but its just their body figuring things out. People won't think twice about having their child play year round sports, or worse, play the same sport year round, but yet they will shy away from strength and movement training because "it will cause injury"; the literature says otherwise! So, if your child is playing sports, or just being a child, call Fit People and get them started on the correct path. Dont forget, they DO TRAIN ADULTS TOO!!!

How's your lower back treating you?
Here are 3 movements you can do to alleviate, restore, and transform your lower back into optimal conditions! Be sure to repeat these movements at least 2 times a day.
- With your hands and knees on the ground, sink back through your hips to rest them on your heels.
- Hinge at your hips as you fold forward, walking your hands out in front of you.
- Rest your belly on your thighs.
- Extend your arms in front of or alongside your body with your palms facing up.
- Focus on breathing deeply and relaxing any areas of tension or tightness.
---- Hold this pose for up to 1 minute.
⚡️Seated Spinal Twist
- Sit on the edge of a cushion with both legs extended out in front.
- Bend your right knee and place your foot to the outside of your left thigh.
- Bend your left leg, placing your foot near your right thigh.
- Lift your arms up with your palms facing each other.
- Starting at the base of your spine, twist to the right side.
- Place your right hand behind you for support.
- Place your left arm around your right leg as though you’re hugging it, or bring your upper arm to the outside of your thigh.
---- Hold this pose for up to 1 minute.
- Come onto all fours in a tabletop position (hands and knees on the ground).
- Press into your hands and feet as you inhale to look up, allowing your belly to fill with air.
- Exhale, tucking your chin into your chest and arching your spine toward the ceiling.
- Continue this pattern of movement, moving with each breath.
----- Do this for 1 to 2 minutes.
Remember, if your pain is getting severe or overwhelming, come in for a quick adjustment and we'll get you straightened out (literally!)👊🏽

To date, our favorite patient ever on one of our tables! A bit hard to adjust, but he was very understanding!
3 hip stretches do alleviate and normalize your movement👊🏽
- Sit on the floor with both legs out in front.
- Bend the legs at the knees and press the soles of the feet together.
- Place a hand on top of each knee and gently push them both down toward the floor. Apply pressure to the knees until there is a stretch, but do not push them further than is comfortable.
- Hold the stretch for 10 seconds and then relax.
- Stand upright with the feet shoulder-width apart.
- If necessary, hold on to a chair, table, or wall for support.
- Keeping the back straight, gently lower the body by bending the knees until they are above the toes. The feet should remain flat on the ground.
- Hold this position for a few seconds, then slowly straighten the legs to return to the starting position.
- Start on all fours, then bring your right knee forward, placing it behind your right wrist with your ankle near your left hip.
- Straighten your left leg behind you and let your upper body fold over your right leg.
- If your hip is tight, allow your outer right glute to touch the floor rather than rest on your left hip. As you breathe, sink deeper into the stretch.
