We are seeing lots of FLU as well as COVID-19 positives in our office! It's VERY important to make sure your child has the best protection possible from BOTH viruses! Right now, we have FLU for everyone 6 months of age and up. However, the COVID-19 vaccines are only for patients 5-11 years old

We will open our schedule for patients 5-11 years old to get COVID-19 vaccinations starting Wednesday, November 17th. We will have limited appointments of 15 available slots for that first day. Please call the office at 205-982-2500 to schedule your child(ren)'s COVID vaccine. We also have flu shots available and both vaccines can be given together.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the time our phone lines are turned off is at 3:30 pm. This is temporary and as soon as we get back to normal work day, we will go back to our normal hours of 8:00 am - 4:30 pm. Attention Southlake Pediatric Parents:
Our office is open for BOTH sick & well visits. We are taking every precaution to keep sick & well children completely separated. This includes no sitting in the waiting areas. You will stay in your car & call when you arrive. Once a room is available, you will be met at the door (well visits in the side door & sick in the regular front door) & immediately escorted into separate well or sick rooms. Your doctor is wearing a mask & gloves for all visits.
If your child is due for a well visit & needs immunizations, now is the time to call & schedule. Once the quarantine is lifted, these appointments will book extremely quick with the limited time remaining before the new school year! Call 205-982-2500 to schedule your children's appointments today!

Dear Southlake Families:

We, the physicians and staff at Southlake Pediatrics, want you to know that we are doing everything that we can to protect everyone during the Corona crisis. All sick patients are being screened by telephone prior to any visit to our clinic. If any patient is deemed to be in a high-risk category for Corona virus, they are being referred for testing at the Urgent Care for Children’s Clinics. Other low-risk sick patients are being immediately brought back to exam rooms to protect them and our other patients. ALL EXAM ROOMS will be thoroughly cleaned after each patient visit for everyone’s protection.

ALL WELL CHILD VISIT patients will be instructed to call our office upon arrival, and they will be brought back through a side door and placed immediately in a designated “well child room,” ensuring that they have no exposure to sick patients. Once they have been seen for their well child exams, they will be escorted out the same door so that they will have no contact with any sick patients.

As previously stated on our page, we are providing teleconference medical visits which are now being paid for by most insurance companies. If you wish to take advantage of this service, please let our triage nurses know and one of our physicians will be happy to return your call to discuss your child’s medical issues and provide any medical treatments that are necessary. As per your insurance contracts, a copay will be required for these visits.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, Blue Cross and United Healthcare have authorized physicians to utilize Telehealth services for the next 30 days. This will allow patients to minimize any possible exposure to the virus by having to leave your home. If you would like to utilize this service,please call our office at 205-982-2500 and you will be able to speak with your physician regarding your child's medical care. Please be advised that your normal copay amount will be collected over the phone.

Urgent Care for Children now offering curbside coronavirus/COVID-19 test to patients ages 0 to 21 at all five clinics around the state: Birmingham, Madison, Tuscaloosa, Trussville and Vestavia Hills.Results should be returned within 24 hours.
