Send me your birthday wishes!
if it takes people two days of research to understand the new product, thatâs a bad sign.
đ¨you need to decide how much you value your rent/mortgage points:
If you DONT care: you donât have to pay the 3% transaction fee and wonât get access your your points
If you DO care: you can either
1ď¸âŁ pay the 3% transaction fee on your rent/mortgage amount or
2ď¸âŁ add 75% of the cost of your rent/mortgage (rent x .75) through other daily purchases on your card to get enough BILT points to offset that transaction fee
Listen, we all knew BILT wasnât making money (they were paying the transaction fees thatâs why it was free for us) but the math doesnât make sense.
1ď¸âŁ I could go back to the normal way of paying rent - straight from my bank account. Donât have to deal with BILT, donât have to deal with the 3% transaction fee, and can use my Chase card for eternity
2ď¸âŁ force people to spend more on their card and gaslighting us to think itâs for our benefit is shady. I looked over our BILT spending habits for 2025 and we wouldâve only hit that 75% threshold to unlock our points 2 months out of 12 (and those her outliers). I donât want to completely change my spending habits to keep a card that is making my life difficult
đ¨ rent will now be pulled as an ACH transaction instead from your line of credit.
This allowed users flexibility by being able to pay their went over the course of their billing period, instead of all on the 1st. Now, as an ACH transaction, your rent will be pulled out of your checking account⌠like how we used to pay rent back in the day đľđź
Whatâs more concerning is that I had to do two days of research and read comment threads in order to fully understand these changes and to me - THATS the biggest red flag.
You can find more information about the difference in credit card offerings from other creators, I just think deciding whether or not *these* changes are even worth it for you too look into the cards is more important.
GOOD LUCK
