One day about 5 years ago, we watched as a boy cried and said goodbye to a sweet cat named Patches who had been severely injured. And our hearts broke into a million pieces. We knew we had to help. She was able to fully recover because of your donations and an amazing foster. She was later adopted by one of our group members.
Her story comes full circle today as she helped her mom make a quilt to save other cats. And that quilt is a symbol of the love, joy, safety, comfort, and warmth that make up the fabric of our rescue community.
If you would like a chance to win this beautiful quilt, and as an added bonus, save more lives, then please head on over to

And you can read about Patches in our group below. Just grab a tissue. Best ending ever.

This kitten was found injured on the road. It appears to have multiple injuries including broken bones and possible bleeding into the abdomen from the looks of the massive wound on its side. A good samaritan grabbed it off the road, cleaned it up, and then started contacting rescues for help.
Unfortunately it has been without vet care since being hit by a car, or falling from one, so it really needs to get to a vet.
This is just one of the many cases we have helped over the last month. Our current vet bill is $2300. We can get this kitten some critically needed vet care so it isn’t suffering any longer, but it’s going to take a collective effort.
Even a few dollars helps us save lives. If you can donate, please use the links below.

We were pretty excited to see Starbucks carrying the new Rex Hamilton mug with his beloved cat on it. Thank you for sharing her with the world. She is beautiful.

This little one wrestled with something that tried to take his leg off.
He came out alive, but the leg is bad. It’s really infected and broken. If it doesn’t come off, he is going to go septic at some point as it rots.
But the leg amputation costs $$$.
Can we pull it off as a community? Totally!
If you want to help, just use the donation links below. Then this little guy can go to his forever home when he’s all healed up, and we can savor another win in the hell from which these animals come.

There are a few hours left for nominations!
It can be overwhelming seeing all of the cats who need help. But we believe in the collective good. There is always hope as long as people are willing to try. Together we make a huge difference in the community.
And so we humbly ask that you take a few minutes to nominate our nonprofit for the Spirit of Giving award through Love’s Bakery. They are giving away $75K to nonprofits in Hawaii this year.
Your nomination can help us continue to save lives together. The deadline to nominate is by 8/11.

Request for an experienced bottle feeder for this little nugget. One of the emergency vet clinics had a two day old neonate dropped off. If they can’t find help it is at risk of euthanasia. You will be responsible for costs and adopting out. We are just spreading the word. If you have experience, 24 hour availability to bottle feed around the clock for the next 4 weeks, and the necessary supplies then please contact Waipahu Waikele Pet Hospital at 808-671-7387 and tell them you are interested in fostering the neonate posted on Catopia
This kitten is in severe distress and vomiting repeatedly.
We aren’t sure if it was exposed to a toxin or has a foreign body lodged in the airway or digestive tract.
Either way it is suffering and needs to get to an emergency vet now.
Your donation will help us get it there. We will update the post as we know more.
Thank you for helping us save lives.

Broken legs, bursting eyeballs, massively infected teeth , panleuk, and pneumonia are just a few of the cases we have on our list for critically needed vet care. And the price tag for this care is about $5K.
We need some help to get it all done.
We could give you a long sad post, but it’s simple. There are more cats that need help than there is money in the bank.
By donating, you are saving lives.
If you can spare a little bit to ease their suffering, then please use the links below.

It’s adopt a cat month. And Hawaiian Humane Society put out a list of the “best” places to adopt a cat. However, they didn’t take into account all of the orgs that work their rears off daily and have cats up for adoption. Which is too bad, because we certainly didn’t forget. 🤷♀️
WHERE TO ADOPT
For anyone interested in adopting a cat, you’re in luck. There are so many needing homes. You can find them through the various rescue organizations on island. 🐱 🐈 🐈⬛

We all want fewer free-roaming cats on the landscape. We are proud to join our fellow cat advocates to make this united statement.
Our work is in animal welfare. As residents of Hawaii, we recognize the need for balance in our fragile and unique ecosystem. We are tackling this challenge from every angle in a compassionate way.
There are thousands of volunteers who work hard every day spending their own money, time and resources toward achieving this goal.
Cats have been in Hawaii for over 200 years. But did you know that it has only been possible to do the hard work of managing their numbers for the past 25 years? We have some catching up to do, but we know it can work if we have your support.
Whether you love cats or hate cats, YOU can help.
