[09/10/21]   I’m saddened to announce the death of Dr. Jerry Curry, one of our part time funeral directors at Valley. “Brother Jerry” was a retired minister and a wonderful Christian man. He served others with a smile and always had a great joke to tell. Even with his health failing the past year, he kept a joyful spirit. Brother Jerry was a remarkable man and we will certainly miss him greatly.

Friends are cordially invited to the visitation from five o’clock in the afternoon until seven o’clock in the evening tomorrow at Ridout’s Valley Chapel in Homewood. Funeral services will commence at eleven o’clock in the morning on Saturday, September 11th, at Valley Chapel with burial to follow at Forest Hill Cemetery. 🙏🏻🙏🏻❤️ Please keep his family in your prayers.

Over 90% of Florida's reefs have vanished. Artificial reefs have helped to restore some of this habitat. Tag an ocean, beach or scuba lover who might want to be buried in a coral reef. https://www.nmreef.com/

A St. Louis man's lifelong love for cars was reflected in his celebration of life.
- Classic cars were staged in the funeral home lot like a car show.
- Custom classics led the procession and the casket was transported in an antique Ford.
- The procession drove through the dealership where he worked as he was paged one last time.
Do you know a car enthusiast who wants to ride out in style?

Beloved Stray Cat Is Given a Memorial Service at the Church She Called Home for 12 Years

In a touching obituary for the feline fondly known as Doorkins Magnificat, the reverend wrote, “From those first tentative steps into the building, she made the church her own.”

"My experience started way back in the 70's when my parents both elected to pre-purchase their after death care and cremations. My siblings and I all were so thankful, that when the time came, so many of the upsetting details were well taken care of.

All we had to do was 'show up.' They led us through everything, and later with my mother's death, they were even able to provide the death certificate. What could have taken weeks, was respectfully and swiftly handled. This allowed us to finalize all details efficiently, giving us the breathing space to grieve.

Now, as I begin to think about 'making it less onerous' on my executor, I too have pre-arranged and paid for my end of life details and cremation, as has my sister. It has given us a total sense of relief; relieving our loved ones of the burden and a few of the tasks that come with dying."
