Sharing details of my fusion Thai restaurant project where I had color input with these Phi Ta Khon masks!

The Phi Ta Khon tradition is about honoring ancestral spirits – the guardians of the city who can bless or curse the land.

Custom-colored mask features: Bamboo steamer base • Wooden elephant trunk-like nose • Coconut husk horns •

Loving how this project blends tradition with modern fusion!

This is one of 2 mixed media murals I designed for Fusion Thai restaurant that represents the present and future of culture, food, beauty, and life. Every brushstroke and detail tells a story of harmony between the past and the present.

Background is Thai newspaper. Colors are culture driven that connect to festivals, masks, & art.

Balinese Barong Masks - Designing a wall around custom-painted Balinese Barong masks for this Fusion Thai restaurant - working with the owners to incorporate many cultural accents and details from many Southeast Asian regions - all include the thought around size, composition, and color combinations! There's another story to be told. Designing for clients with stories to tell through design is my passion. This Thai-fusion restaurant is now on my plate. I get to help this Michelin-inspired chef and his wife who have journeyed from Thailand to the States design their new boutique restaurant and brand. I'm stretching my storytelling, lighting, and design skills once again on CAD and rendering programs. Yes, I do all of this on my own, so I can control my designs. I'm such a geek.
