This week we lost the person responsible for the existence of Wolters Electric. While our Dad was a mason for most of his career, it was his advice for me to go into the electric program at our tech center and, 7 years later, form WEI. He was a great mentor and taught me how to run the business. He was able to work with WEI for a few years prior to his retirement. His knowledge and encouragement will always be a part of our company.

Kohler just came out with a great rebate and warranty program. Give us a call if you would like an estimate.

I’m going to start out by saying what a crazy year 2020 has been. This year marked 30 year in business. Back in March things shut down to doing only essential work. I can’t thank our team enough for all they do. This morning they came in and made breakfast and we enjoyed a little social distance meal in our shop area. Below is the gift they made for me, a picture with their families. It reminds us it’s not just about the person working for us, but also who they are working for, their family. Thanks Team. And Merry Christmas everyone, Christ is the reason for the season.

Even with all the turmoil currently going on, we live in a great country.

This month 30 years ago Wolters Electric was established. We started out working evenings and Saturdays for the first couple years with the help of my brothers,(while working full time for Robert Shaw controls doing maintenance).

In May of 1992 we took the leap of faith being self employed full time. Words can’t express how thankful we are for all of our customers over the past 30 years, and our team that has kept us successful.

This country offers many opportunities, sometimes it a matter of calculated risks but there are opportunities. Never give up on dreams, it’s not usually going to be handed to you. It takes time, hard work and effort but anything is possible in this country.
IN GOD WE TRUST.

How things changed in the past week. Wolters Electric is limiting our exposure to our employees and customers of corona virus.
You may see our trucks on the road. We are only performing essential work for the well being of our clients and emergency service calls. We will be monitoring emails and phone calls.
This is a temporary situation and will also pass. Stay positive and we will all get tru this together.

Out with the old and in with the new. Our team was hired to remove an old generator and set a new 50 kw 3 phase unit. The fun part was it was on the second floor of the building. Good thing the elevator was just big enough.

Another busy year is about finished. Here are some photos off the roof of the new building going up in downtown Holland and some of our team wiring the walls. Thank you to all our contractors and customers for making 2018 a success. We want to wish everyone a Happy New Year

Here’s a TBT. Found this picture in a scrapbook book my mother put together. This was our first service van a 1977 vintage when we went into business back in 1990. Thing have definitely changed over the years.

Our team installed an indirect lighting system on the trellis across the front of a garage. Looked great on a gloomy day, can’t wait to see it when it’s fully dark outside.

Our office manager Dee had the opportunity to take a ride in a combine across from our shop. We are expanding her knowledge of country life.

Last week I mentioned that there are C/O and smoke detector combo units available. This morning when I walked into our warehouse I had one that was put on the shelve 7’ off the floor with the battery installed sounding the c/o alarm.
I took it outside to see if it was a false alarm and cleared it and put it back on the shelf only to have it reactivate the c/o alarm. A few minutes later one of our techs informed us he ran a generator he repaired last night for a little bit. I have to say I’m impressed that it picked it up with it being trapped in our shop for 12 hours. It’s reassuring this item works as designed.

It’s that time again we set our clocks back an hour. It’s also a good time to remember to change the batteries in your smoke detectors. If your units are over 10 years old, manufacturers recommend changing them out. There are also new smoke detectors available that have a 10 year battery life, thus not having to change them every year. There are also a smoke/co detectors available. Enjoy your extra hour of sleep.

Here’s a relic of switch gear from days gone by. This was at the Buckley Steam and Engine show. It amazing how things have changed even since I started in the industry in 1983.

Our team is putting the final touches on a lot of projects this past month, with parade of homes and other projects. This is an auto detail shop we are getting close to finishing up in the next week. Pictures don't do it justice in showing how bright the detail area is, but it is bright. Project was done using all Led lighting.

Randy’s busy changing pole heads to more efficient LED heads

We added a new card board bailer to our shop today. Almost all the parts we use come in card board boxes of all sizes. Skids of fixtures, service gear and all are fittings. We are hoping to reduce our disposal to bi- weekly just by recycling our card board. It’s also kind of fun to play with.

It's almost here. Remember on Saturday night to set your clocks back and enjoy the extra hour on Sunday.
It's also a good time to change the batteries in your smoke detectors and take time to evaluate the age of your smoke detectors. If they are over 10 years old they recommend replacement of the units.
