Joining us today at The Hillsboro Farmers Market is Diamond Duo Music! Did you know the singers of Diamond Duo operate a nonprofit called Bully Buster Stars.Bully Buster Stars is an assembly music program. The program is offered at no cost to area schools. It is a combination of "You Are a Star" which addresses character education and "Bully Buster Stars" which is an anti-bullying program. Being a "Star" means that students develop the tools they need to be successful, contributing members of society. Character education inspires students to think beyond themselves and to develop respect of self and others. Bullying is a critical factor in the lives of school-aged children, and this program addresses the following: 1) key behaviors that protect students from the harmful effects of bullying, 2) shows students how to protect themselves from bullying, and 3) to not exhibit bullying behavior themselves. By offering this program through music the students become engaged and are willing participants in an effective teaching tool that helps them remember what they have learned. Bully Buster Stars will be accepting TIPS today at the Farmers Market to help support this amazing program!
