This hands-on experience provides a unique opportunity to engage females in trades related career fields as viable career pathways after high school. Jefferson College HAC Instructor Kati Donahue, who talks to many girls each year about the rewarding opportunities available in the trades and HVAC-R field, came up with the “Tutus to Tool Belts” concept.

To heighten hands on instruction and training for students in the Jefferson College Automotive Technology program, Lou Fusz Automotive Group recently donated a 2017 Chevy Trax and 2008 Dodge Ram 1500 to the Jefferson College Foundation, Inc.
The donation reflects the partnership between the College’s Workforce Development department and the Jefferson College Foundation in forming business relationships that enable students to benefit from maximum learning opportunities. The vehicles’ combined value is estimated at $9,000. Fusz previously donated a new 2015 Subaru short block and a 2012 Subaru used engine for disassembly.

We will have telescope viewing this Sunday night, June 4, at the observatory from 8-10:30 pm. Sunset is not until 8:20 pm, so we will be limited to looking at Venus until about 9 pm. Moonrise is at 9:30 pm. If you wish, you can bring you own telescopes or binoculars.
