Landscape designers helping create great experiences for clients in Utah.

With the Utah Valley Parade of Homes starting this week, we’ve been thinking about one of our favorite projects from last year.

We still remember standing in the backyard at the end of the day watching the sun set, the water go still, and everything finally settling into place.

Memorial Day weekend always feels like the unofficial start of summer.

The flag goes out front, the firepit starts getting used again, and suddenly everyone stays outside way later than they planned to.

One of the first things we ask clients isn’t what style they want or what plants they like.

It’s usually something simpler.

“How do you want to spend time out here?”

The answers to that question usually shape the entire design.

Looking at this space, what do you think the answer was?

Containers can do a lot more than add seasonal color.

When they’re scaled and placed intentionally, they help frame the entry and make the whole space feel more welcoming.

Sharing a few more details from this 2025 home in stories today.

A front yard can look good and still feel a little off.

Most of the time, it’s not the plants.

It’s how you move through the space.
Where your eye goes.
How everything connects as you approach the door.

When those pieces work together, the whole experience feels more natural.

This is what thoughtful landscape design looks like.

A lot of back and forth.
Sketching, marking things up, walking the site.

Trying things. Adjusting. Looking at it again.

It’s not the part people usually see,
but it’s what makes it all feel right in the end.

The best landscapes deepen our connection to where we live.
To the earth.

It’s easy to forget how much this matters.
Until you have a space that brings you back to it.

Happy Earth Day.

Most homeowner’s don’t realize they’re making this mistake in their landscape.

They start before there is a clear plan ‼️

One decision leads to another, and over time, the space starts to feel disconnected.

Not because anything is wrong, but because nothing was designed to work together.

That’s what a plan changes.

It brings everything together.

You don’t need to have everything figured out before reaching out to a landscape designer.

Most people come to us with a general idea of how they want their space to feel, but aren’t sure how to bring it all together.

That’s exactly where the process begins.

But having a few things in mind can make those first conversations easier.

If you’ve been thinking about your landscape, this is a good place to start.

These are the spaces you live in.

Where kids run barefoot and you find yourself outside without even thinking about it.
