Who doesn’t love a late lunch at TopGolf? Our interns have been such a welcome addition to our EE Reed team this summer and we wanted to show our gratitude. As a gesture of thanks, we spent the afternoon in Ashburn eating, playing games, and hanging out. Hopefully the interns were able to learn something from our staff besides how to shank a drive! Thanks to our friends at Topgolf for the hospitality.

It was great to come together with members of our industry to pack school supplies for elementary through high school students for this coming school year.

Women Giving Back supports women and children in crisis on a first step to stability by providing quality clothing at no cost, assisted by a caring and committed community.

to June 1st when the E.E. Reed East Coast team participated in another great JDRF Real Estate games. Our team showed up in force to compete in fun events with teams from the construction and real estate markets to raise money for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. In total, the games raised over $800,000 for this great cause. We are proud to be an Olympic Champion Sponsor and part of this amazing industry that gives back to the communities in which we build.

! Two of our very own took on the local Iron Man 70.3 Eagleman held in Cambridge, MD on June 11, 2023. Mike Grubby and Felix Perez layered in training for this event into their already busy lives for the past several months. That hard work and dedication allowed them to realize their goal of crossing the finish line at their very first Iron Man 70.3. Congratulations, Mike and Felix!

Our EHS (Environmental, Health & Safety) team has been hard at work this month conducting in-house workshops and on-site safety stand downs across our project sites addressing the NSC 2023 Weekly Topics and site-specific safety concerns. This week's education is centered around hazard recognition. As we wrap up Safety Month 2023, we’d like to extend our thanks to our EHS team for the hard work they do each day to ensure we are on the leading edge of safety and better practices across our company.

Our employees know it, and the Washington Post confirmed it as E.E. Reed – East Coast was selected as one of the Top Work Places in 2023. We were selected 19th best “small” business work place in the Washington Metro Area to be exact. We always say that Our People are our biggest asset, and we are proud that our employees appreciate and feel rewarded with the value that they bring to our company. To be considered for the list is no small feat as more than 35% over your employees have to answer 24 question survey administered by a third party reviewer, with over 6,865 organizations participating. Based on those responses, rankings were generated. Our culture rewards our employees for their dedication and hard work, and we are proud be recognized as a Top Place to Work.

Continuing our support of the Travis Manion Foundation, members of our team and J.E. Richards/Phalcon USA participated in the 2023 Valor Open held on June 12th.
This year’s event raised $175,000 to support the foundation’s mission to develop programs, training opportunities, and events designed to empower veterans and families of the fallen, and then inspire them to pass on their values to the next generation and the community at large.

June is National Safety Month! Today, the E.E. Reed – East Coast in-house safety team helped educate our staff to ensure everyone on site is aware of potential hazards. Topics included trip/fall hazards, heat exhaustion, and other prevalent risks. This is just part of our effort to combat preventable injuries, or “accidents”, which are the fourth leading cause of U.S. deaths. What are you doing to raise awareness and celebrate Safety Month? We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Catherine Boggs, the heart of our E.E Reed East Coast office. Starting here in 2000, she was tirelessly dedicated to the mission and success of this company for nearly 25 years.
The magnitude of her impact on the E.E. Reed family is immeasurable. Catherine’s memory will continue to live on through stories of her integrity, dedication, and unwavering honesty in everything she did. We will honor her legacy and continue to hold ourselves to the standards she exemplified.

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! After multiple trips rounding up donations earlier in April; E.E. Reed helped deliver loads of supplies that directly benefit the children of Loudoun County through the Backpack Buddies program. In collaboration with 7x24 Exchange International, we were able to gather not only critical food items, but also several thousands of dollars in gift cards and cash donations. None of it would have been possible without the extended E.E. Reed family including clients, subcontractors, and other generous participants. We appreciate you and so do the families of Loudoun County!

Ice skates are not required to hoist this Cup! While hockey players chase after Lord Stanley’s trophy, our Village Place Tech Park team has been playing host to the E.E. Reed Safety Cup. They earned the right by maintaining an exemplary level of safety earlier this year as they established site logistics and began work for the future 4-building campus. Congratulations and thank you to this tireless group for setting a high standard!

Last chance! As an active member of the 7x24 Backpack Coalition Exchange, E.E. Reed has been gathering food, monetary donations, and Walmart gift cards to assist children and families in need within Loudon and Prince William counties. One of the key missions of 7x24 Exchange International is to give back to the local community through its social responsibility initiative. In order to support this mission, we placed donation boxes in our office and on our larger project sites to collect food donations through April 13th.

With only a few days left, we are beyond grateful for the participation of everyone here at E.E. Reed and our extended project teams. Congratulations to this incredible group on the successful delivery of our latest data center! This team, along with support from PM staff Colin and Justin, worked TIRELESSLY to build this 260,000 two-story shell. Along the way they executed a record-fast schedule as requested by our repeat client. Not only that, we also developed and executed upgraded safety plans that were deemed “best in class” by client representatives (hence why they’re shown here holding the coveted EER Safety Award). Their dedication, commitment, and work ethic embody the essence of our culture at E.E. Reed Construction-East Coast.

E.E. Reed recently attended a Prince William County Public Schools Career Fair to build awareness of career path options within the construction industry. Our company, along with other local businesses, partners with PWCS to provide Work-Based Learning Experiences. We were able to speak with both students and parents about the different opportunities that are available for young men and women whether or not they have a college education. Construction is a great path to financial freedom with enormous potential career growth.

We’re grateful to have team members like Katherine, Mike, Liam, and Rocio that are willing to spend time speaking with the next generation and helping build our industry. Thank you to the Prince William County community for letting us take part!

What’s a Cloud Run without a few clouds? We had so much fun braving the rain at the 7x24 Exchange International event on Saturday morning, and we are proud of having helped bring it all together.
Our team was excited to not only sponsor, but also participate in, the 4.999K Cloud Run to celebrate International Data Center Day. A little rain and a tough race couldn’t keep the smiles off our faces! Especially since our efforts helped benefit Dulles South Soup Kitchen and the 7x24 Exchange DC Chapter Scholarship Fund. This 8-session course by Associated Builders and Contractors - Virginia Chapter is designed to help participants better understand and navigate construction drawings. At E.E. Reed East Coast, we know education is always on-going, and we encourage our entire team to take opportunities to learn. Congratulations to the graduates!

It’s all about the Cup! Congratulations to the newest hosts of the E.E. Reed Safety Cup, our project team at the 84/94 Campus! This collaborative group earned the highest percentage of positive safety comments last month - all without interference of our client’s on-site mission critical operations. Their dedication is worthy of winning our January 2023 Safety Award. Keep up the great work!

E.E. Reed - East Coast attended another successful Spring Career Fair hosted by Virginia Tech. It was great meeting and speaking with some of the industry's up and coming talent. We ended the day by treating a few of our summer interns to the Tech vs. Miami game at Cassell Coliseum.

This past weekend, we had the opportunity to attend the 2023 Subby Awards Gala hosted by the American Subcontractors Association Metro Washington. This subcontractor-driven industry group nominated us for the following awards:

Best Superintendent: Joe Crisman
Best Local/Regional Contractor

Although we didn’t come away with the W, we’re honored that our subcontractors think of us as valued partners within the industry. Congratulations to all of the winners and nominees recognized at the Gala!

E.E. Reed – East Coast is excited to complete the renovation for Anderson Tax in Washington, DC. This project included an architectural renovation of the finishes within the reconfigured space as well as updated lighting and lighting controls to meet the latest DC Green initiatives. Architectural improvements were capped with a feature wood slat wall that carried through the ceiling and down the walls in the meeting area to tie the whole space together. The finished product is a great upgrade for the client in both form and function!

E.E. Reed – East Coast was happy to sponsor the Project Healing Waters D.C. Metro Chapter holiday party this past weekend and donate fly-fishing tying kits to all veterans in attendance. Project Healing Waters is dedicated to the physical and emotional rehabilitation of disabled active military service personnel and disabled veterans through fly fishing and associated activities including education and outings. Senior Vice President, Eric Dooley, an active volunteer with Project Healing Waters, presented the gifts to the attendees, and was able to pass along some of his wisdom on fly-tying techniques. E.E. Reed has been proud to support Project Healing Waters this year and was honored to be in attendance at this event to close out the year.

E.E. Reed is excited to have completed two new dormitories on the campus of Episcopal High School. The building architecture blends these additions into the 180-year-old campus seamlessly and provides students with 40 new rooms, commons spaces for gathering and 6 new faculty residencies. These new buildings are part of a master plan addition that includes a new health and wellness center, which is scheduled to complete at the beginning of 2023. We are thrilled to be part of these new additions at Episcopal.

Congrats to our NTT team for winning the E.E. Reed Safety Cup for the month of October. The team maintained an exemplary site and no observed site violations from both the E.E. Reed Safety team and the 3rd party inspectors. Their hard work to keep everyone educated on safe working conditions is appreciated by all and well deserving of this month’s award. Great job Team!

Our E.E. Reed East Coast staff rolled up their sleeves today to participate in “Difference Day” an event organized by JK Community Farm, DC for Bees, 7x24 DC Chapter, and Loudoun County Economic Development to construct and fill raised beds. These raised beds provide food for the bee population and each bed allows JK Community Farm to donate an additional 1,000 meals annually to families facing food insecurity.

We love getting our hands dirty, but it means so much more when it’s to benefit our surrounding communities. Thank you for letting us play a small part in that today 7x24 DC and JK Community Farm.

Congratulations to EE Reed – East Coast superintendent, Rob Nimmo, for completing the Marine Corp Marathon this past weekend. This was Rob’s 1st marathon and ran in honor of the Travis Manion Foundation. Through donations and support from family, friends and coworkers, he was able to raise $7,300 for the Foundation. Great job Rob!
