We begin with helping with Operation Christmas Child again by packing boxes…Mia and Mrs Johnson were able to reach a new packing box number of 18 shoeboxes in a brown box! Then we ate pizza and pecan pie, sang karaoke, danced, played some games and even packed a few shoeboxes ourselves! But the best part was us all sharing what were were thankful for! The Family, Career and Community Leaders of America raffled a basket full of goodies to raise money for . They ended up raising over $300 for us! Not only are we incredibly grateful for their hard work and their donation, but every one of these kids were engaged, asked questions, took tours, and helped us make lots of TikToks! !

Join us in congratulating Mrs. Bobbi Comer, who was recently named the Association for Career and Technical Education Teacher of the Year during the ACTE CareerTech Vision National Conference in Las Vegas.
This award recognizes the finest Career and Technical Education (CTE) teachers at the middle/secondary school level who have demonstrated innovation in the classroom, commitment to their students, and dedication to improving CTE in their institutions and communities.
For 35 years, Comer has been the Family and Consumer Sciences (FCS) Teacher and FCCLA Adviser at Page County High School in Shenandoah, Virginia. Being an FCS teacher is not just a career; for Comer, it is a passion. Comer works to instill in students the importance of family and a love of learning so that they may one day effectively balance their roles at work and home.
Comer firmly believes that students enrolled in CTE classes should participate in their respective CTSOs. Her students have continued to be successful in state and national competitions, and the chapter has been honored with more than 16 FCCLA National Program Awards. Comer served as the Local Chapter Adviser Representative to the National FCCLA Board of Directors from 2019-2022. This week VP of Parliamentary Law, , attended Boys Nation in Washington, D.C.
Two representatives from each of the 49 Boys States represent their state at Boys Nation in Washington, where the young leaders receive an education on the structure and function of federal government.
The week of government training also includes lectures, forums and visits to federal agencies, national shrines, institutions, memorials and historical sites. On Capitol Hill, Boys Nation senators meet with elected officials from their home states.
Since Boys Nation began in 1946, a number of its graduates have been elected to public office, including presidents, congressmen, state governors and state legislators.

With school starting soon, here are 5 reasons to enroll your children in a Family and Consumer Sciences education class and FCCLA
1. Adulting 101 has been our thing since 1945. We literally founded and created the classes that teach the life skills you see people posting about they wish they had learned in high school. They obviously didn’t take a Family and Consumer Sciences course.
2. All students (city, rural, shy, outgoing, athletic and musical) are encouraged to join.
3. There aren’t score boards or rankings but members are still part of a team. FCCLA has almost 40 competitive event contests including STAR Events, Skill Demonstration Events, and Knowledge Bowl. From fashion construction to culinary arts or prepared public speaking and hospitality, tourism, and recreation, there is one event your child will love and excel doing.
4. FCCLA is the Ultimate Leadership Experience. Through the organization, your child will learn public speaking skills, organization, time management, goal setting, and develop a passion for working with others and to make their communities a better place.
5. FCCLA is building homes for America’s future. Our members are learning to create homes and communities that focus on truth and love and security and faith. These skills of strengthening their family unit will set them apart and help us create a brighter future for our nation and the world.
