We are having an E-MTB Sprint Enduro Race on Friday in Charlotte Hall!!!!
This is the 1st time this format has come to Southern Maryland!
We are a Regional Sprint Enduro Motorcycle Series but most of our racers preview the courses on E-MTB so we decided to add this race to our weekend program!
Come check it out - camping is free for the weekend - there will be food vendors.
Gate opens at 8am on Friday
Friday -EMTB 5pm racing starts (no throttles - pedal assisted only)
Gate opens at 6am on Saturday
Saturday - Motorcycle Sprint starts at 8am with the youth riders/11 for the adults
Sunday - same as Saturday schedule.
When we got home I reviewed my son's bike manual and there is a page showing how to install training wheels and the size to use for the bike. I get that installing training wheels isn't as big a job as servicing a professional bike riders fancy bike might be but just tell me that! This guy clearly didn't want to be bothered with doing it. I also think that because it was 4 July and the store was closing in two hours he just didn't want to do it. There was another guy in the parking lot that appeared to work there but he was too busy affixing a flag to his pickup for the holiday. The guy in the store actually said "well you should just buy a bike with the training wheels already on it." HUH! Sad thing is that I work in health and wellness for a very large government agency and often recommend companies to our workforce to promote a healthy work-life balance. I will be sure NOT to recommend these folks for any fitness needs!
So for anyone who does care to provide the service, let me know as I still need the training wheels put on and I will also tip...guy missed out on that $20 tip plus I was going to buy a helmet, bell, all sorts of add ons for my son and a bike for myself and husband so we could ride with him! If you know of a shop that WOULD like the business let me know!

It's important for the public to understand that fake rescues are a big problem in the U.S. It's so easy to file paperwork to be a nonprofit and take money from people with big hearts that want to help animals. The IRS and states don't do any sort of physical checks of a rescue's property or animals. The only time that happens is when somebody brings a concern to animal control or the media and sheds light on a situation. Please be mindful to supoort a reputable rescue with a track record of doing good work in the community. And if you see something suspicious or unsettling, please say something. Report it to animal control and if they seem unwilling to help, reach out to a member of the animal rescue community, post on social media, etc so the issue is brought to light. You could be sparing animals from suffering.
Then we met back and had our first annual Bike Rodeo. Needless to say, it was a rip roaring success! Our kiddos learned about bike safety and basic maintenance. They got to go through the various stations which included Crazy 8s, our Slalom course, Tightrope, Paper Scout, plus more! We want to send out a huge thank you to A1 cycling for helping out by providing bike safety tips as well as maintenance and repairs of our kiddos bikes!
